With such a large selection of options here there’s something for everyone. Our service was absolutely amazing. Everything came out fantastic!

Beef is old, not fresh! Service so delay! Had to ask waiter multiple times for the next order. Foods come out so small portion for 8 people.Parking: Parking on the street! Usually parking spots are full, I have to go around few time to find the spot!

There was literally a piece of a metal dish scrubby in our food. The customer service for this was that the waitress told us she would tell the owner...and we got a free piece of cake. Aside from the undesired metal add on, it's a super cool experience to customize these delicious dishes. All you can eat is sweet and reasonably priced especially if you consider you could eat ALL the meat and it would be the same price. The waiter we had was super cool..the one star for service is based on the piece of metal and customer service about the metal. One soup should have been comped in my humble consumer opinion.

Had to prepare my friends to this experience, and it was a success ~ the staff were able to explain the process of picking a broth, and then ordering all soup contents ~~ you get your own pot which was great for some individuals with diet restrictions. It was warm and cozy. The sauce station was clean and easy. Will go again to warm myself up!

This place is bad. The meat has no flavor and the service is remarkably like a chicken with no head do not waste your

This was our first time at Y Shabu Shabu. We went for a night after Valentine's Day dinner for something different. I chose the Szechuan broth and my wife had the Sukiyaki. We both enjoyed their respective flavors. We chose a variety of appetizers, meats, seafoods and we both chose udon noodles. Being the more adventurous diner, I made sure to try things I've never had before. All items were good on their own and I often forgot to use the sauce that I concocted. I finished up with the matcha ice cream which was quite good. The place was not too busy and staff was quite attentive, especially Vivi who greeted us and explained how things worked. They checked on us often to make sure things were ok as well as if we would like anything else. We will most likely return to try additional items!

Nice date night, and something different in dinning out. My daughter introduced me to this spot and wow what a treat. Make sure you bring your appetite cause it is pricey BUT all you can eat. Unfortunately my date is 9 ys old and is tall so they charge the adult price for him, $48.00. Kids menu is based on height, He does not eat as much as an adult but it is what it is. I think they should base it on age. Besides that a wonderful experience a must try....

Y Shabu Shabu has a slightly different approach to the traditional dish, with an 'all you can eat' twist. The broth preparation was quite nice, certainly the best part of the meal, and the unfiltered Sake selection was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately they use lower quality meat, thinking that if it's sliced really thin and presented in nice little frozen rolls that no one will care. Skip the fried appetizers, they were all greasy on the outside, dry and tasteless on the inside. The atmosphere is quite pleasant, with a simplistic yet clean and modern feel. Overall not bad, not great ... but really not worth the price.

New to town and already dialed in. Food was amazing. Similar to hot pot I’ve enjoyed over seas. Highly recommend.

It’s alright the difference will be on the house………..Just left SHABU after a strange experience. I walked into SHABU as a foreigner after 21 hours flight from Africa. The restaurant was about to close and I was so hungry and I begged to be served. And the waiter accepted, in my mind I was just thinking of how Kind people here are.I was offered a seat. I waited for some time before I asked for the menu and he pointed at a barcode on the edge of the table as I hadn’t seen it. He then walked me through a menu that had no prices and I was so grateful that he decided to do so.He helped me pick the delicacies. After ordering I realised that I had not seen any prices, so I immediately called him back and asked how much my order was, turns out it was $48, I asked him what can we remove from the order as I needed a maximum spend of $25, he went to the back and came back -after 5 minutes with the chef to tell me .. its alright the difference will be on the house. The meal was served and it took me a minute to realise the frozen rolls of meat were supposed to be dipped in the boiling pot together with the leaves and mushrooms…I’m clueless like that..lolHe asked me if I had been here and I told him yes, because I thought he was asking if I had visited providence before. Then l another waiter came to ask me if I needed more food from the kitchen and I said no.. his response was - ‘ofcourse not’ and walked away.He came again and asked me if I needed something and I said no.. and he walked away saying.. ‘ofcourse not’.As a foreigner I’m thinking probably this is just how people communicate here.Correct me if I’m wrong because in hindsight I think he already had an attitude. He later brought me the bill and it was $49 and I asked him why as the initial waiter had communicated that the difference will be on the house. For a minute I thought I was back home where there are no stereotypes or prejudice and I tried to be explain what I had communicated. The waiter (manager) could not allow me time to speak. He asked me who should pay the difference, I said the house as the initial waiter communicated… he then said- if I don’t pay then the waiter should pay.I told him alright let him pay.He then said he is the manager and the reason he came instead of the other waiter was because he saw me trying to take advantage of the other waiter. He threatened that he would call the police. At this point it hit me that I am in a foreign country and people my color are known for many things, I realised this wasn’t home where we can have a conversation and understand each other. He continued to insist that I was taking advantage of his waiter. This realisation is gripping but very important.. It’s sad that I was seen as threat.I wish him well, I don’t blame him I blame myself. I just need to be careful while in this kind of establishments and to go home very much soon.

Moving from Hawaii to Rhode Island has been different, and we have been dying to find a good shabu shabu place in Providence. We live right around the corner from Y Shabu Shabu and I was absolutely excited to bring my husband here!! Everything was amazing - the service, the meat choices, the broths - EVERYTHING. Paying almost $45 per head is kinda crazy in my opinion, but being that there aren’t many shabu shabu places here, I’ll take it. I’m just used to paying $30 per head at the most back in Hawaii! But nonetheless, this place hits the spot for shabu shabu!

This is one of our favorite date night spots! Hot Pot is a dining experience, which helps elevate the fun of a date night. Choose from a vast menu of items to create your perfect meal, and the entire prix fixe menu is all you can eat! We love the traditional Shabu broth, extensive sauce bar, variety of homemade appetizers and desserts, and fresh vegetables and meat. The servers are always helpful and prompt, and reservations are available but not necessary. Beer and wine is available, as well as Japanese sodas. Street parking only, but it's not a long walk. A must try!

Tried this hot pot place for lunch - all you can eat. The space is great, a lot of options for sauces, however the quality of food and service was lacking. The seafood was the biggest disappointment, when ordering the crabmeat/claw (pictured) came out frozen solid and resembled Styrofoam..I've never seen anything like it. The mussels and squid tasted very fishy. The free appetizers I tried crab Rangoon and the shumi was not appetizing what so ever. The spicy broth was very good, and the meat quality seemed similar to others I've tried but not the best, however edible. Service was strange - she hovered while giving the check and while giving a tip. I won't be back.

My boyfriend and I went here for a date and it was the most AMAZING experience ever. Our waiter Ben was absolutely wonderful and made our time here so so memorable. He was punctual, checked on us multiple times, made sure we were comfortable, and provided the best hospitality we have EVER received in a Rhode Island restaurant. If you decide to go here, make sure to request him! Overall it was a pleasure to have Ben as our waiter and we will only ever request him when we go back. Other than Ben, food was amazing, came out fast, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful. 10/10 recommend coming here for an authentic and delicious meal. Thank you y shabu ?
