“My sweet parents took myself and my husband here to celebrate my birthday, recently. We loved the whole experience! We sat by a scenic window and the food was delicious! Fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the prime rib! Prices were kind, too! The service was excellent and everybody there was very attentive and nice. They acknowledge you while you’re there and make sure that you have everything that you need. Looking forward to my next trip to South Carolina to visit my parents and to eat at The Galley Restaurant!!!“

“Went to Maki again last night. We hadn't planned on it but had planned on another place for our 36th anniversary. Then we found some very bad reviews on our first choice special occasion place that made us not want to take a chance. So we went to Maki as we knew it would be perfect in every sense. As always, sushi was fresh and innovative. The sliced tenderloin with ponzu app was something new for us, and it was amazing. Our server Mary was bubbly and pleasant and efficient. So Maki is a place for really, really amazing food with the chops for a special occasion.“

“I have been here two times and the food was good for a lakeshore spot. I'm going to say that I would definitely come back if I were out in a boat and wanted some tacos. Last time I was there they were getting their license to serve alcohol so I am almost certain that they should be serving beer and wine with those tacos by now. The place was open so you can come in with a swimsuit on. Service was pleasant. The place is new and clean. Docks are new, and have plenty of parking which is great and is a real serious consideration for me when choosing a place to visit by boat.“
“We come here 2-3 times a week. Brittany the bartender is very efficient and provides awesome service. I was disappointed the owner took sweet potato fries off the menu! I guess they didn’t sell well? Too expensive? But they were better than the regular fries!“

“Great food! Service was good, food came out hot and quick. Started off with a special bacon pimento pretzel which was great , Ordered the Local Burger and my wife got the steak which were both very good. We ended the night with a Lava Cake. I will be coming back to try other dishes and to enjoy the unique lake atmosphere.“

“First time at this establishment, and overall had a great experience at El Arriero. Ordered some drinks (Neon Margarita, Cantarito) which were very good ! Both tasted how they’re supposed to with a generous amount of tequila. Also ordered some small dishes which came out quickly. Food was delicious and tasty. All the staff we talked to were very nice and helpful. Always making sure we were good. I will definitely be coming back to try their other drinks. They have a WIDE VARIETY of (alcoholic) drinks to choose from.“

“Wanted fresh seafood and actually drove from NC to Anderson SC to find a place that did something besides a square fish sandwich. The Hook was the place and while we were flying blind, parked and went it. Great decision. Food was great, broiled & seasoned perfectly with a generous portion. Our server Chris S. was friendly, professional and knew the menu. Our meal was delicious and she checked back numerous times to make sure we were satisfied with everything.Our platters consisted of a large portion of flounder, a crab cake that was huge and made of lump crab meat, scallops and shrimp. Sides were hush puppies and choice of potatoes.Hooks will absolutely be our go to when we want fresh seafood and is worth the long drive.“

“Wow wow ! This place definitely has authentic flavors. Coming from someone who grew up eating this type of food I have to say it reminded me of our flavors. Staff was SUPER friendly and welcoming. Honestly such great service which made the whole experience even better. The kids have a great selection of food to order from and that's from 12 years and younger. My daughter had the enchilada with beans and rice and she devoured it! My son had the shrimp quesadilla and that was gone in seconds. I decided to get the quesabirria and it was so tasty. The consomé was very flavorful and the tortilla was crispy. My fiancé had the mojarra and that in itself was fried perfectly. They have a salsa bar in the back that has a lot of different types of salsas that are super authentic and flavorful. The place is very clean and pleasant with tons of space and comfortable booths. I'm so happy I took a peak at other 5 star raving reviews and I definitely agree this is the spot for good Mexican food.“
