Love this place so much. I wish they would stay open longer though. Everything on the menu is good.

The food was delicious! I'm only giving it a 4 because the tostones were very dry, which I took care of by dipping them in the black beans. But I do love the spices that they use in the Ropa Vieja, Black Beans and Saffron Rice. I've had my share of authentic Cuban food coming from Florida. This is not traditional, but Gypsy Pantry brings a great spin to the table. I almost want to say it has a bit of a Thai influence. I also ordered a Cinnamon Pear mimosa that was lovely! I'll def be back!

The only reason I am giving a 4 stars is because they did not have coffee. A Cuban place without coffee? Really? They guy said the machine was broken but we didn’t even see coffee in the menu.....Parking is difficult and we did not have change and they guy took dimes from the tip bucket so that we could put in the meter. That was very nice from this attendant.Besides that I had a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and tomato with the green fries and my husband had the steak and onion sandwich.... it was delicious! If you decide to go try the green fries.... you will not regret it ?

It had a good atmosphere that reminded me of places back home. The Cuban was delicious and I like the twist with pulled pork and plantains on the sandwich. Nice.

This was the worst food I have ever had in my life. By the way I'm not picky and pretty much like every thing I have ever eaten. The brisket sandwich tasted like it came from a can. Immediately got sick from low grade food. Dont eat here. This is my first review I have ever done in my life. Thats how bad this place is.

This is the second time I've visited this location. The first time was exceptional and the second was no different. I had the steak and onion sandwich and it was stuffed with perfectly carmalized onions, tender steak. The sandwich was pressed and crispy even after taking it to go and getting to eat it. The prices are reasonable for being in downtown Charleston. I highly recommend this place for lunch!

I had the chicken and cuban empanadas. They were great as usual. But, I was extremely disappointed to learn that they no longer serve the guava and cheese empanada. It was the best!

Amazing food and amazing service! Delicious tequenos and empanadas. Excellent churros with mole sauce. Beautiful interior with nice atmosphere. Don't be deceived by the location.

The food is amazing! And plenty of it. Thanks Sebastian for your hospitality. Definitely going to try the North Charleston location next!

I guess one can say it's "Okay" Cuban food if one hasn't had Cuban food often or if it's been a while. The Cuban sandwich I had was quite soggy and loaded with mayonnaise. Cuban sandwiches don't take Mayo!! Meh...

This place was so great for lunch! The portions are huge and the food is so good. We had the cuban sandwich, potato croquettes, and carne asada tacos. The staff were helpful in their recommendations and the food came out quickly.

Enjoyed takeout from here recently. We both had the Cuban sandwiches which were delicious. A little skimpy on the pickles. But otherwise a pretty good value for the price. Remind them to throw in some napkins.

I ordered the empanada plate, the guava cheese pastry, and a mexican coke to be delivered. The plate itself was actually rather enjoyable. It is way too much food for one person so I may even recommend sharing the plate with someone. The dessert was awful, however. The pastry was bready, thick, and heavy. The contents were mostly clumpy and separated. I would rather get a pie from McDonalds. And finally the thing that infuriated me. The "Mexican" coke. Mexican coke comes in a glass bottle and for some reason seems to have a better quality that coke in a plastic bottle. For $3 per bottle, they sent me two bottles of regular, plastic bottled, 16.9 oz cokes. That is nearly robbery. I could buy two cokes at that size at a convenience store for 66% less. I am very unimpressed and will not be going back to this restaurant.

I absolutely love this place -best food in Charleston area! The owners are awesome genuine people -helping feed the less fortunate during the pandemic makes them top notch to me -moved to Charleston went to his food truck and turns out I knew the owner from a restaurant in nj he owned that I used to take my oldest son to when he was a baby!! My favorite restaurant hands down - pollo frito is my fav and u have to try the green fries
