We were looking for a place for happy hour and oysters and have enjoyed the Bay St location so we thought we would give the West Ashley spot a try and so glad we did. We sat at the bar by the shucking area and learned more about oysters from Doyle than we thought possible. The oysters were all excellent and you must try the char-broiled oysters for an app. They were fantastic. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive and we really liked the home town, neighborhood atmosphere. If you're looking for a great place for oysters away from the tourists this is the place. Sit on the right side of the bar and visit with Doyle. You'll be glad you did.

Ooof. My experience did not match the positive reviews. Website advertises happy hour 4-7, but when I showed up for my 630 reservation, menu said happy hour 4-6. Reserved a high top but seated at a table next to the bathroom when the joint was 1/2 full at best. Server disappeared for a solid 10-15 minutes after delivering waters/teas, citing “issue outside.” … break, cig, call, table on the patio… who knows? 1 entree came out before any apps/oysters. Server took oyster plate before we were done, then took utensils before we were done with them. Host tried hard to supplement poor service, and thinking we were done because the first batch of entrees/apps came out and were finished, brought to go drinks before the second batch of entrees/apps came out. Shrimp and grits were lumpy, instant grits topped with melted butter and salty, dry “blackened” (?) shrimp. Server touched us too much for our comfort. Super disappointed given the other reviews. Good food can make up for bad service… 0/2. I will be going to my seafood go-tos and other new places. Sad.

I took my 10 yr old to try oysters for the first time the host was absolutely amazing I can’t remember his name. Doyle behind the bar came out to our table to give my kiddo a one on one oyster shucking demo and explained everything from types of oysters to how to shuck etc the staff was amazing and the food was on point 10 of 10 rated btw he loves oysters now love this place when I make it back to the Charleston area will definitely be backKid-friendliness: Very attentive to my 10-year-old, and very courteous to both of us

Food is meh, we had fried oysters, Brussels, octopus, all were just ok. Whiskey sour was yellow in color, obviously using a cheap sour mix- not ok for $14. Service good

Found this place on Yelp because we wanted some fresh grilled fish. Such a healthy and delicious plate with broccoli slaw, grilled mahi, and fingerling potatoes. Flavors and portion sizes were perfect. We found the place a little cold, because of the fans and air conditioner, and the waitress took the time to ask management to turn the blowers down a bit.

Last day of the trip and we wanted to have a great dinner but super disappointed in the service and the food. All four of our appetizers came out after our entrees. We waited for about 45 minutes for food. A lot of the food was over salted and over breaded. Also had to wait for almost an hour for the check. Sad that our last night was spent here.
I come in Pearlz often. New employee Craig introduced himself to me. He said I noticed you here often and wanted to introduce myself. People you can’t buy that. Great customer service and atmosphere. The place to be!

The food was not very good, the fish and chips is what I got . The chips were hard as a rock could have built a house with them, the fish was ok. The service absolutely SUCKED 100% we were there for an hour or so and the waitress only came by twice maybe 3 times she grabbed the empty bottle and finally came back and gave me another beer that I didn't ask for ( and got changed for it). I would never go there again.
