Overall we were disappointed with our visit. The room was comfy but a bit on the small side. Everything was clean and the hotel is visually appealing. Our biggest issues were that our room rate included complimentary cocktails, but the bar was closed, and when we went to eat breakfast the restaurant was closed. There was no notice and we were left scrambling to find breakfast in town before our campus visit. No real apology or discount, just the offer of a banana. I reached out to management afterwards but didn't receive any response. Location is great but amenities are lacking.

The staff is extremely friendly. Nice little bar area in the lobby. Rooms were big (I stayed in a King Suite) and the beds and pillows extremely comfortable. Walking distance to downtown and the stadium, so I didn't have to drive around to find parking to eat...just walked downtown from the Abernathy. Was a little loud until about 10:30 pm because it's across the street from the intramural fields, but that was also part of the awesomeness. If you want to feel the college experience, stay at this place!

The Staff is amazing and extremely helpful to visitors! Can’t say enough great things about our Clemson experience involving the hotel and staff. Would highly recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had to cancel due to illness and the hotel was so understanding. We will definitely stay here when we come back to tour Clemson! Thanks for A++ customer service.

Excellent location for visiting Clemson University, campus is so close you can just walk. Quiet location. Staff immediately gave us a campus map when we arrived. They have a bar, happy hour and a basic breakfast available to purchase. The rooms are large, kitchenette, typical hotel wall AC/Heater. It was quiet but we were there on a week day during spring semester. Towels need to be tossed, they smelled clean until you got them wet and then they were SOUR, so gross. Otherwise the hotel was clean and staff very friendly.

Every time I have the opportunity to stay at the Abernathy, I feel like I am being greeted by friends. Charity, Barbara and Melinda are all beyond welcoming. The rooms are spacious and always clean. I look forward to returning and staying anywhere else would be a disappointment.

We went up for My daughters sorority function we have stayed here before and have enjoyed it. But this place has gone downhill. First our room wasn’t ready on time, there was black mold in the bathroom, and the cleaning people”s were so loud on their walker talkie starting early on Sunday morning it woke us up. This place is too expensive for our experience we had.

If you are visiting Clemson University, this is a perfect choice! You are essentially on campus and walking distance to everything. The rooms are generous size with table, chairs, and microwave/mini-fridge. The beds are comfortable and staff friendly. Highly recommend!!

This hotel was wonderful! Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and large spacious shower. It was squeaky clean and very well maintained. The breakfast bar is not complimentary and was out of a few things but the bacon, egg and cheese croissant was excellent. Enjoyed looking at the Taps yearbooks in the bar!

Stayed one night at The Abernathy before our daughter toured Clemson. The location is unbeatable, the hotel is clean, well-staffed with friendly folks and the beds are comfortable. TAPPS is the name of their small bar/cafe in the lobby and they have old CU yearbooks dating back forever so it's fun to search for your friends who attended. TAPPS also has a pretty good breakfast and coffee in the morning, including iced lattes for the summer. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked this hotel because the other hotel I phoned didn't answer their phones. Boy am I glad about it. This hotel more than met our expectations. The room was very large with a dining table, living space, kitchen area and bed. We were there for just one night, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and I had the best sleep. We requested a late checkout and the staff was very friendly. This is a top notch hotel and I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends.

The room is very large, but I prefer two beds. I believe all if not most have a king with sofa bed. It was super clean, but the bottom of the shower could have used a quick swipe with a magic eraser. The room has a table with four chairs which is perfect for a family of four to have a take out dinner. The sofa bed had the requisite bar in the middle of your back, but my 9 year old didn't mind too much. The air conditioner was a little loud. I felt that the lvp floors made it a little louder than I would have liked, but we slept well. The front desk personnel was very friendly & the cafe lady was nice. The location cannot be beat! We stayed there while my son attended the Dabo football camp.

The Abernathy was a joy to visit! The Abernathy is right at the edge of the Clemson campus, and within walking distance to the downtown restaurants and retail stores. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the rooms are beautiful! Ours was a king suite with a small kitchenette and table, a sofa, a very comfortable bed, large TV with dish satellite service, and a large bathroom with an amazing shower! They do have a bar and breakfast restaurant, but there are so many options in the downtown Clemson area that a short walk was a great idea to find wonderful dining and drinking options. I can imagine that the Abernathy would get quite expensive on game days and special events on campus, but for the off-season which is when we visited, it was a beautiful and affordable option. We look forward to returning
