“I stopped in here today since I was in the area and saw the Food Network review which had me intrigued. It was absolutely worth the stop. The chili burgers were fantastic and different. The service was also great. They were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was as expected. We ordered the plates, meaning fries were included. 3 plates,waters and a side of pintos was $44. That seemed a little high. But honestly I didn't look at a menu or prices and don't regret going. It was an experience and I enjoyed it.“
“The food at the Cook Out receives 4* from me. I always go for the chicken quesadilla plate, which are normally a hit or miss situation. Some days the chicken quesadillas are absolutely perfect with the quesadilla sauce, and the cheese ratio just right. When the quesadillas are perfect I will go back everyday but no later then the very next I will get dry quesadillas with no sauce at all. I really wish they were more consistent with the quesadilla sauce. Foods my family orders frequently are: cheese bites, hush puppies, corn dogs, chicken wraps...THE WATERMELON MILKSHAKE (which is only available during the summer) is the best milkshake on the menu!!!As for the service, I rate 2*. Look, no matter how many times you say "it was a pleasure serving you" if you have a bad attitude about it those words mean NOTHING! Actions speak louder than words!! Ok.... Just sayingOverall the CookOut gets a 4* rating from me!“
“The Big E BBQ plate offers a generous amount of smoky, juicy pork, a soft bun, fresh and well-drained hand-cut fries, sweet and crunchy coleslaw and a canned soda or bottled water, all for $10. The fries are incredibly fresh. The pork is stellar, just what I like, with a side of sweet barbecue sauce for pouring or dipping. There's enough pork for two sandwiches OR for one sandwich and some extra on the side, just the way I like! Sandwiches are also available for $6 and fries for $3. Big E isn't always available at this site on a regular schedule at this point, but you should get a taste when it's there. Big E also offers catering as well as ribs on occasion by pre-order for $25. In a town with no brick-and-mortar BBQ restaurant, Big E is much needed. Friendly and fast service, too. I was told I'd have to wait a bit for fresh fries. Less than 5 minutes later I was back in the car with my food. Cards accepted. Lot available for parking near a Mountain Rest Cemetery entrance. “A half dozen well-fed cops were leaving here when I pulled up. That's always a good sign for good food. Just had the burger and fries, they were very good! Service was excellent and the prices were good. Definitely has a beach house feel. I would recommend this place.“
