My grandma is no longer with me, and to feel connected again after many years…I’m now a loyal customer. The gravy was so flavorful, the beef tips had just the right amount of char and the green beans were fantastic!!My partner got the half BBQ chicken with French fries, mashed potatoes and cornbread. There was nothing left on his plate. I will say the hush puppies were better than the cornbread in my opinion, but I’m a hush puppy lover.Give this place a shot. “This place has the best pork BBQ that I have ever had. It wasn't loaded with hot spices like so many restaurants do these days. There are two sauces on the table that are both very good. If you like hot spices they have Texas Pete available. The mac n' cheese was also delicious. The Okra was a little too crispy but still tasted good. I was a bit surprised that no bread was included with the meal but I just remember to order bread next time. The server was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. It was a bit noisy but not bad for a saloon.“
“My husband and I drive a hour just to eat here. It's our favorite place to eat BBQ. Food is excellent every time. Service is always great. We had Melissa tonight and she went above and beyond for us. Best waitress we've had anywhere in a long time. Next time we go back, I'll be looking for her. So if you want some great BBQ, chicken or brisket with all the fixing. The smoke pit is definitely your place. The portion are very generous. Go stop in and let Melissa or any of the other servers take care of you. We always leave happy and full.“
“Am I pushing it to give a place five stars? Yes. I should really go 4.5. What I can say is that this is not only the best BBQ is Gaston County, it ranks near the top in the State of North Carolina. I eat BBQ across the country, and this is worthy of mention anywhere.Meats are nicely smoked, and moist, the sides are great. So far I've only had brisket and pork, both were outstanding. I go for Greens and baked beans always, and they are good here; but would like to try other items. You can get banana pudding as a side.Banana Pudding... Theirs is good maybe 3.5-4.I'm very picky about banana pudding. I always get some if available - a BBQ restaurant is judged by this - , and I make banana pudding also. They could up their banana pudding to move their overall rating to a solid 5-Star. I liked it slightly thicker, creamer... I like Nilla WaffersI'll post pictures later. They also serve an excellent grilled cheese sandwich with the yummy melted cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato and onions! Delicious and hard to beat! “The food has been prepared fresh each time I come here. The staff are friendly and the wings and fries are amazing! I’ve tried the hot honey wings and spicy teriyaki and both were sauced well and unique in taste compared to other popular wing spots. Much better actually! Maybe made in-house? The sauce does not taste generic and the texture of the wings are always perfect. The prices and wait times are not bad either. There is a smoke shop attached with equally friendly and helpful staff. He took his time assisting me with my questions and went above and beyond to find answers if he was unsure. I always try to stop by when I’m in the area and will return and suggest your business to others.“
“I stopped by Hillbillies for the first time I'm several months. I got home and noticed I didn't get the extra bbq sauce I ordered. I was busy so I didn't bother to call them back. The next day my wife and I both had plenty left over so I called and asked if I could get the two bbq sauces that they missed. I was fully expecting them to say they would have to charge me again which would have been perfectly fine as I really should have called the same day. To my surprise, they said sure just come through the drive through. That is the little extra service that goes a long way for me. They always have good food so I would have been back regardless but this experience makes it more likely that I will return a lot sooner.“

“I have always loved Lancaster’s. The menu is huge and everything is good. Today for lunch I had the BBQ/Brisket combo with collards and green beans. I got it to go, drove 10 minutes away to work to eat it and it was still piping hot. Everything was absolutely delicious!“

“Longhorn's has a Springtime special on Lamb chops right now. I asked for medium well & mine were cooked to perfection.I also like that my server brought my salad & bread with my drink ... but didn't bring my Lamb until I had finished my salad. I hate it when restaurants rush your food out... so this won big points with me.There are lots of other good options on the menu which I liked... such as a Rib & Parmesan Crusted Chicken platter & there's lots of choices for sides. I'll be back to try something else next time... but those Lamb chops were tasty... yessss.“

I'm sure it has looked the same forever but now it is retro and pretty cool. The service is good but a little slow. The menu is varied so no matter what you want they probably have it.
