Okay. Looking for fine dining options while in Charleston, I made reservations here based upon the Open Table listing. The photographs and description weren't necessary misleading, but it was not what I expected. It is a hotel restaurant, adjacent to a bar room/dining. Patrons at the bar were very loud, which spilled over into the small dining area. It gave the impression of a marina bar and dining area that is not what I was expecting. Bear in mind, I spent some money for Uber to and from Charleston expecting an upscale seafood restaurant. This may have been my error for not researching better. Credit goes to the marketing department of the hotel for presenting this place in a great light. The food was very good as was the staff. Pricing was similar to any fine dining restaurant in the area; without the atmosphere. I suppose if I was a guest at the hotel it would be fine, but it certainly isn't a destination restaurant. Great food and staff, just not the place to make an effort to visit.

The servers were wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful. The food is priced like a fine dining restaurant, but the quality does not support that price. The crab bisque has great flavor but arrived cool. The pork chop was overcooked. The potatoes had way too much garlic. We ordered the bread basket, it was delicious but they charged $8 for two biscuits and a small disc of corn bread. Most fine dining restaurants provide gourmet bread to justify this price point. The butter served with the bread basket and the oysters served on the half shell were fantastic.

We had the restaurant week menu. The food was delicious but the portions for dinner and dessert were extremely small (a small plate portion). I'm not sure if that was due to restaurant week or if the portions are always that small. Definitely not worth the money for the portion size. Unfortunate, because the food was very good. The staff was terrific and the service was great.

Our food was great. However, it weren't restaurant week, $80 before taxes and tip would be too much for crab bisque, pork chop and cheesecake, although I'm sure the portions are larger on the regular menu.

Super casual bar & grill posing as a high end restaurant. $70 Prime Angus Ribeye was one of the worst steaks I’ve had. Denny’s could’ve honestly done a steak more proud. My buddy and I both ordered the most expensive steak on the menu and what we received was a low quality product, over cooked, poorly seasoned and almost tasted like a frozen steak. $8 for a bread basket with 3 hard pieces of “artisan” bread and a small cast iron skillet of dry cornbread. $12 fingerling potatoes were bland and soaked in garlic butter, swimming in it actually. To top it off, we split the $16 Caesar Salad and they tried to charge us $6 extra for splitting it. Out tab was over $200 for two of us and that “splitting charge” was insult to injury. I would not recommend this overpriced fraud of a fine dining experience. $265 after tax and tip and I could’ve ate a better meal at Chili’s. The waitress who provided our barely adequate service was lucky I’m not a jerk so I still tipped her $40. Stay away!

This was quite a while ago when I visited SC. I really like the atmosphere both indoor and outdoor seating. I really like the indoor design and enjoyed the outdoor esp with a really nice weather. Even though for outdoor, you will be by the pool and pool sometimes has lot of visitors and it was a bit weird to kind of looking them swimming and it could be loud. The service was okay as well with the food, and of course it’s pricey. When I am visiting, I like to eat smaller portions on different places so we order some appetizers. I recommend this place just to get the experience.

Honestly the chef is outstanding the short rib and pork chop were the absolute best we have ever had! The crab chowder was beyond amazing and our server Joseph was exceptional he brought us a sauce to dip the fingerling potato's in and we are still raving about them!!!

Had a very good experience at Coastal Provisions last night mostly due to the fact that our server Connie was so personable, knowledgeable and helpful. We go to this restaurant fairly regularly because we live nearby. The food is always good but having a such great service makes all the difference.

This chef is the best in Charleston and surrounding areas. We have been to many restaurants in the area and the food served here is 10/10 top quality. My son (who I am nursing) has a dairy allergy that has prevented me from eating anything containing dairy for 6 months. Every restaurant I have been to seems to use butter or some form of dairy in their preparation of the food. This restaurant was able to accommodate my dairy allergy with food items already listed on the menu. We had lunch and dinner and both meals were absolutely fantastic. They even had a dairy free desert option. I never write reviews but found it necessary because this restaurant has hands down the best food we have had in isle of palms and even in Charleston. Thank you to the chef for giving me my best dinning experience in 6 months!!!

Fish was not fresh, steaks tough and every side tasted like weekend leftovers. Sadly, this is not worth a visit while vacationing at Isle of Palms. Our server Connie was gracious and tried her best.

The she crab soup had no chunks of crab. The bowl was flat and large. The she crab soup and blue crab soup was one in the same. The temperature was medium. The main course food at four didn't come out at the same time. We had to ask the servers name. When he first came to the table, we thought he was the Waterboy! He brought a free drink to one of the girls, and not to the other who ordered alcohol.

So on Labor Day, Open Table only showed bar availability for 6:30. Upon arrival, we noted many empty tables and had no problem obtaining a table. We spent a leisurely hour and one half and noted that during that time, the restaurant was never more than 1/3 full. No telling how many people went elsewhere and missed an excellent meal.
