Best Mexican food in South Carolina!!! Customer service is always wonderful. The manager there is the best with her employees. They are sooo kind and will correct something if need be in minutes. Every time I want to take my friends or family out - this is my 100 percent go to!!!!

Really can't speak on the atmosphere because it was empty and I did a to go order. The food is gross and they forgot my beans. I only got rice. Also, the up charge for sour cream is ridiculous. My order was $10.99, but I paid $16+ because I asked for sour cream.

First time placing a to-go order with “Chapala” and the experience was just ok.Positives: 1. Speed of service - I placed the order over the phone and arrived at the restaurant 10 mins later and my food was ready. Prices - very fair pricing, even a bit cheaper than other Mexican restaurants in the area.Negatives: 1. The food - I ordered a carnitas dinner. While the beans and rice were tasty, the meat was not good. It was overcooked, tough, and flavorless. Worst of all, the meat was completely cold. The beans and rice were warm though which leads me to believe they packaged the carnitas without heating them. 2. Accuracy - I made to sure to ask over the phone whether the order came with chips and salsa which the employee said it did. There were chips, but no salsa. They tie the bag in a tight knot so you’re unable to easily verify the accuracy of your food. I also had requested no cheese on the side of beans, but it was covered in melted cheese.Lots of potential with Chapala, but it seems the kitchen staff needs more training and oversight. The overall experience left much to be desired.

I have been to both the Irmo and Lexington locations. Most recently, the Irmo location. I was greeted by a petite Hispanic gentleman whom I said something to in Spanish. This os now the 2nd time at a different time location that I know and felt that the staff was talking smack in Spanish. I also believe they charge a hospitality fee as well. Funny, how people get stereotyped for being different. If you are a blonde who speaks another language, don't rule us out. The prices have gone up, while the food and service remain mediocre at best .
