Had the opportunity to visit last night for the first time. Had some apps and pasta. Everything was great . Coming from nyc and Philly we have high standards for Italian cuisine. Most Italian restaurants in Charleston are a disappointment. Savi is our go to place now. If you stop at the bar be sure to say hi to Keith.

Delicious food, excellent service AND amazing wines!! We especially appreciated and enjoyed the staff's wine knowledge, recommendations on what we'd like and what paired well with our apps & entrees.

Food arrived almost 90 minutes after ordering. Neighboring tables came in later and departed while we sat. The server kept on apologizing but neither she nor management (never saw management) even offered any sort of compensation or credit for 90 minute wait. I'll not be going to SAVI for the foreseeable future and will definitely not recommend it to anyone. Expect I'll never hear from them about this. Server was nice but no issues got resolved, not really her fault. Also some dishes not hot.

Service is terrible, expect a 2 hour long course with no refills or sight of your waiter the rest of the night. Absolutely piss poor. Ordered the fish pasta special, got a horrendously over cooked fish filet slapped on top of cold pasta, that tasted freezer burnt. For what it’s worth, go spend the money at Coda Del Pesce if you want ACTUAL good food and good service. We spent around $500 on dinner, things the first and last time I’ll ever be at SAVI.

I made a reservation couple weeks ago for me and my best friend! They didn’t not even asked me if we wanted to sit In the dining room! I didn’t not request to sit in the wine bar room! Can we sit at the bar the next time I am there with my best friend! I don’t see in on the reservation!

Recently returned from traveling thru Italy and hae traveled extensively thru US. I can honestly say closest thing to the freshness, quality, service and taste I have experienced here in US! One of my top 2. Richard was awesome, engaging and knowledgeable!

Such a disappointing experience last night. A restaurant that once had the guest experience buttoned down, was severely lacking for my husband’s birthday dinner. From cleaning bottles left on the bar to poor dining service, we couldn’t finish fast enough to pay the bill and leave. We waited 15+ minutes for our server to finally approach our table and offer water. We requested the Smoked Burrata appetizer and placed our order for a nice bottle of wine and our entrées. More waiting 20ish minutes when our server returned to let us know they were out of the wine. We ordered a different bottle and a few minutes later we were told they were out of that, too. We each opted for a glass of house white and Prosecco which she mixed up when serving. The appetizer finally came and it was not ‘smoked’. We were told the smoker was broken. Our entrées were fine, but at this point we’ve waited quite some time. The server mentioned she was comping my glass of Prosecco which I thought at the very least she would offer that gesture to my husband since she had acknowledged his birthday, but no. Last night was misstep after misstep. What happened, SAVI? It was a bit of a train wreck.

This was our first time at Savi and I would definitely go back. There are obviously extensive wine options but the cocktail options were great as well. We tried the Uncle Monty and it had the perfect balance of flavors. Overall a sweet drink that was hard to put down. I love any Italian restaurant that gives complimentary bread and Savi's focaccia was delicious. Warm, salty and a nice amount of rosemary. We got the mushroom provoleta as a starter which I highly recommend if you are a cheese lover. Definitely try to save some of your focaccia to dip. The provoleta comes with toasted bread to dip but the focaccia is much better. The toasted bread was pretty hard to bite into. For our entrees we had the Margarita pizza and crab & lobster ravioli. The pizza was excellent. The ravioli was cooked perfectly however the lobster and crab that topped it was a bit dry/ over cooked which was a little disappointing for the price of the dish. The ravioli was in a vodka sauce and the sauce was delicious. We enjoyed dipping our pizza crust in it. Overall I recommend dining here if you are looking for a nice environment with great service, drinks, and Italian food.

Let's start with service. We sat at the bar which is our preference, as the conversation is usually better and the atmosphere is great. We had a great experience all the way around. Natalie was very attentive and didn't rush us, which we loved. She was sure to keep an eye on us and was right there when we were ready to order. Keith, the other bartender, stopped by and chatted w/ us briefly which we enjoyed some good "local" talk. The atmosphere at the bar here, we have always loved (as well as the outside seating.) It has a nice Italian vibe especially with the soaring clear glass display of wine bottles nearby.Regarding the food; it was on par with what we expected in general. My husband ordered the lasagna which he said was very good. One thing he did mention this time, was that the last few bites (of the bottom layer) had a hint of metal taste to them. I'm guessing perhaps the cast iron dish it was served in wasn't "conditioned" prior to baking it.. or it was simply a new dish that they used, which could be an easy fix either way; I'm not sure. Overall though, the flavors of the dish were great.I ordered the Lobster ravioli served with Vodka sauce. The lump crab on top was a great addition; and my favorite part. The ravioli was cooked well and the sauce was good; your basic vodka sauce, nothing that really set it apart from others per se, but still good. (a little lemon zest as a final topping maybe? IDK...) Anyway, overall, Savi's awesome atmosphere is my first draw, the service, their food is good, prices not bad all depending what you get, and the location is great. An easy 4 stars for me. :-)

I am a regular wine club member and tonight I was very disappointed in Savi...As a wine club member we get to take home the bottle we most prefer. The least disappointing issue tonight was most of the wine was unavailable and we would have to return for it later if that was the wine we liked.More importantly were issues with the food. Having ordered the hot honey pizza previously we wanted it again and as before only wanted meat on half and wanted added veggies. Kitchen came back saying they couldn't accommodate only half meat. So I said ok. I can remove the pepperoni from my slices. AND the pizza arrived with NO PEPPERONI AND NO PANCETTA along with no pepperoncini which it should have. It did have mushrooms and regular peppers which we were charged $4 each for adding to the pizza. So the pizza wound up being almost$30 without the meat or the pepperoncini.More shocking was one of us ordered a small salad and added steak to it. When the bill came the charge for the steak was a whopping $31. We should have asked before but I think that's outrageous. Won't be doing that again.. And not sure when we will be back.

I don't recommend this place. We went here to try to get a relaxing drink after doing some shopping, but it was soooooo awkward and not relaxing at all. I really disliked the service here mostly, it was just really awkward and not welcoming. It seemed like the bartender just wished everyone in the bar would leave, which we did after only one drink. We had hoped to get two drinks at least, but we were like this is terrible and just ended up grabbing a bottle of wine on the way home so we could have a chill evening at the house we rented. The wine was fine, not amazing, but good enough. I got a quartino of the Somma Prosecco, and it wasn't bad. Not the best prosecco, but it was good enough. I originally wanted to get the Bubbles Trio flight, but after a couple of interactions with our bartender, I realized I just wanted a one and done type of thing. My friend ordered an old fashioned, which was presented kinda cool, except the bartender then messed up, dropped part of the stuff on the floor yet proceeded to just pick it up off the floor and continue making the drink. Omg, so gross in my opinion. I wouldn't have drank it and would have sent it back if it had been my drink, but my friend didn't want to make a big deal about it. He wasn't overly impressed by the fact that the stuff had been dropped on the floor and then just picked back up though. The bartender then went back behind the bar and started singing really loudly to himself - one of the people sitting at the bar was like "are you bored or something?." The bar cleared out pretty fast because the bartender kept either singing to people or oversharing his life stories. Like, fine if someone wants to talk, but it was pretty clear that NO ONE wanted to listen to him and everyone felt very uncomfortable. He also overshared every time he came over to us. Sir, maybe get a therapist that is paid to listen to you? While their food looked kinda yummy, we didn't want to stay with the service everyone at the bar was having and we were having. And then when we asked for the check, he brought it to us, said "No rush" while proceeding to stand directly behind us as we were getting a credit card out, and picked it up as soon as we set it on the table - it felt very rushed lol. I feel like I'm not even describing this entire debacle as awkward as it was, but just know it was soooooo awkward. I will not be back here.

Not bad Great service. Just don't like the modern cold yuppy type places. Lots of great food and apps.
