Stumbled upon Nu Way, the hole-in-the-wall bar, and let me tell you, it's like finding a secret society for lovers of questionable decor and unforgettable stories. The exterior is so inconspicuous; I almost walked past it, thinking it was an undercover operation for the Fun Police.Inside Nu Way, I felt like I entered a time machine set to "retro chic meets quirky chaos." The furniture seemed to have survived one too many happy hours, and the jukebox played music like it was auditioning for a nostalgic sitcom soundtrack. I half-expected a neon sign to blink, "Welcome to the Twilight Zone."The bartender at Nu Way deserves a gold medal in multitasking – pouring drinks, solving world mysteries, and telling jokes that could rival a stand-up comedian. I asked for a specialty cocktail, and they whipped up a concoction that could raise the spirits of even the most skeptical ghosts. If you're into sipping on history, dancing with eccentric regulars, and feeling like you've discovered a parallel universe, Nu Way is the place to be. It's not just a bar; it's a time-traveling, laugh-inducing, hole-in-the-wall masterpiece. Just be prepared to leave with more stories than you bargained for!

Slow service due to under staffed establishment from slow nights to very very busy nights. 1-3 bartenders to take care of a whole bar and you ain’t getting that service unless you waiting 20 minutes if they get to you. As friendly as the staff is, service is too slow. The music is always amazing, the environment is perfect setting of a small town bar with a small town feel. I love burgers. Wings are always on point but you might age 10 years waiting for service. Good luck folks.

Nice little dive bar. Got there right when they were opening. Burgers were pretty good. Service was okay but I think they were still trying to prepare for the day.

After living in Spartanburg for a couple of years, I finally made it to the historic Nu-Way Lounge, about which I have heard much. Friends had also informed me that they serve some of the best burgers in town. When I made my pilgrimage to this 80+ year old establishment, I wished that I have come sooner, and I surely will return. If you are looking for a "dive", this is the place. That said the service was excellent and the food even better. We ordered the area-famous Redneck Burger, and I order the tater tots in place of the house chips. I like tater tots, and these were well prepared - crisp on the outside and tender on the inside - and seasoned with their special fry seasoning. (Not sure what is in it, but I like the special flavor) The Redneck Burger lived up to its hype, and I would definitely order it again. This restaurant has its own personality and is a welcomed fixture on Kennedy Street. We look forward to future dining experiences in is unique establishment.Parking: You can park next to Nu-Way or across the street.

Always fun to go to Nuway and see what kinda characters are there! Despite the teeny tiny cooking area the food is always really good. Hamburgers just taste so good. Beer is cold, TVs always playing and music brings back memories. Love this place. It's good sometimes when things don't change with the times.
