Food was good although it took a very long time between ordering and actually receiving our food. They charged me extra for paying with a credit card which also upped the tax amount too. I realize that they get charged a fee for allowing the restaurant to let customers pay with credit but that should be considered into the price of the food they serve, not blatantly charging the customer at checkout. Their food was good but highly overpriced anyway.

Right once we got there, there was somebody already ready for us. It felt like our drinks and food haven’t even been ordered and they’re already on the table. Great atmosphere and food, would recommend. Try their chicken and waffles because they are good

The food was great and service was great UNTIL.. we got our tabs. We ordered “a vodka Diet Coke” - she never asked our preference on vodka .. but anywhere we go, they ask if we have a preference on liquor (my fiance is also a bartender so I know this is a legit practice at every place that sells alcohol). We get our tab and we got charged $10 each drink and it said “grey goose” .. when she came back around we asked if that was their house vodka. She replied “no it’s not.” We then asked why she charged us for grey goose when we didn’t order top shelf.. her response was (in a very sarcastic tone) “you’re supposed to specify and you didn’t. I can’t adjust it because you drank grey goose..” .. SUPER SNEAKY!! We should have asked for a manager, but we were so annoyed, taken back by the lack of customer service and caught off guard that we just wanted to get out of there. Beware when you order drinks. MAKE SURE to order house liquor because you will be charged for top shelf and gaslit that you were the problem by not specifying that you want house liquor. Everything else was great .. food was amazing! Just make sure you look at your tab before you pay.

The atmosphere was poor because it was so loud in the building. The food was very poor. There were 4 of us and 2 of us had burnt food. The fish I had was the cornbread crusted fish. The cornbread crust was burnt and the fish was over cooked. My friend had shrimp and it was also overcooked (even though they replaced the meal ). By the time her meal got to the table everyone had finished eating. The manager did apologize but unfortunately the damage was done. I will not be returning and nether will my friends. The service was okay, it just took a long time for the waitress to arrive and attend to our table.

Went to Poogans for dinner last night and there was hardly anything to rave about. Took a very long time to get our meal served. Ordered pork chop which was very good, meatloaf was good, flat iron steak was extremely salty as if a salt shaker had been dropped on it and salt spilled over it but decided to go ahead and serve it anyways. Then the bill came and I paid with a credit card which they turned around and gave me a new bill charging even more because it was a credit card. This place is highly overcharging for their meals in the first place, and then to add insult to injury they charge more if you pay for it with a credit card. My advice is to find a different restaurant folks. And for Poogans, my advice is....do better or you won't make it in business.

My family and i came here for a birthday event, and the way they tried to swindle us was baffling. The manager, Rick, was refusing to accommodate our party on all of their wrongdoings, which was failure to communicate the policies of an event prior to. We were treated as if we were uneducated and rowdy because we were questioning him and we are black. In his words we were told to “get out”. The staff refused to hand us our $62 per one person receipts, so we had to go and figure them out amongst ourselves. I have never in my life paid $62 for chicken and waffles or shrimp and grits. The pricing was very predatory and Rick didn’t expect us to read this random 3 page “contract” he found. Rick has no knowledge of how booking parties worked per his own words nor where someone was there knew. This restaurant is vile and not friendly to black people. First and last time i will step foot in a subpar establishment. I’ll keep spending my money at page’s okra grill, and i advise everyone else to do the same. Thanks for an awful experience Rick and staff!

We've eaten inside multiple times, everything is always great. This time we place a LARGE 10 person order for pickup. Usually, when we order from restaurants there is always a mistake, every time. I am pleased to say, not one thing was wrong AND everything was labeled! I can't say how excited I was to see that. Thank you!

Cute place and the service was great as well! We were given biscuits upon arriving and they were good. My boyfriend got a burger and he said it was amazing but I was shocked at the amount of fries he was given for the price. I got the country fried steak and it was okay. I probably would never again though. I got it with red rice and collard greens. I thought the collard greens and country fried steak were a little too salty and the red rice seemed to be a little burnt and the sausage was burnt in it . Although, I didn't enjoy my meal as much as I hoped I'm open to trying something else and giving this place another shot! It was a little pricey (our bill was $73 after tip) but overall we had a good experience. The banana pudding was very good! Also, the lemonade is fresh and was AMAZING.

This place was somewhere that almost everyone recommended that we need to go and it was great. No complaints but I didn't find it to be rave worthy like everyone had explained. Highlights were the great sweet tea and the big booth that we got seated in and the fun part of seeing all of the celebrities accords on the wall but other than that it was just a lovely lunch ‍

We visited tonight for a quick bite after the school book fair. Gina was our server, and she is top notch! She was very friendly, took the time to know our names and visit with my daughters. My older daughter is sometimes shy, but opened right up to Gina. The food was also fantastic! I had the sweet tea salmon and we tried the pimento cheese fritter appetizer and the chocolate desert was a hit with the little ones! We will be back!

On Friday, March 15th, around 8:30, my family—comprising my 8-month-old son, my 16-year-old son, my husband, and myself—ventured to your establishment to celebrate my husband's birthday. It marked our inaugural visit, as we hadn't dined out in eight months, so we anticipated a memorable evening that quickly soured. Our server, Gina, if I recall correctly, greeted us warmly and promptly took our orders upon seating. I opted for calamari, a lemon drop shot, and a lavender martini, while my husband requested a Poogan's Berry lemonade as a mocktail, substituting ginger beer for Sprite. I emphasized to Gina the importance of ensuring it was prepared as a mocktail. Despite this, when our drinks arrived alongside some honey biscuits, my husband's sip revealed it contained nothing but liquor, prompting him to spit it out into his glass of water.Concerned, I sought clarification from Gina regarding the authenticity of the mocktail, to which she falsely affirmed. Disbelieving, I pointed out the unmistakable taste of alcohol, to which she erroneously attributed to the ginger beer. Eventually, she admitted her mistake, acknowledging that she had verbally communicated the order as a mocktail but failed to input it as such. She persistently attempted to rectify the error by offering to remake the drink without liquor, citing her understanding derived from her experience with Alcoholics Anonymous. However, it became apparent that her intentions were more about salvaging her credibility after deceiving us.Returning to my husband to confer, I brought the drink with me to prevent further tampering by Gina, who persisted in her attempts to remake it as though the incident hadn't occurred. Subsequently, she approached our table, but I requested time to finish discussing the matter with my husband before engaging with her further. At this juncture, her manager intervened following Gina's explanation, though it was evident that he didn't perceive the situation with the gravity it warranted. After recounting the ordeal to the manager, he subtly insinuated fault onto my husband for ordering a non-alcoholic beverage that Gina had mishandled, exemplified by her misguided belief that certain ginger beers contained alcohol. Regrettably, no compensatory gestures were extended, such as a complimentary meal for our next visit, despite this being our inaugural experience at your establishment. Instead, apologies were proffered for inadvertently serving alcohol to someone who hadn't imbibed since 2015 on his birthday—a scenario that could have been avoided had our trust not been misplaced. It is disheartening that accountability was evaded, leaving us disillusioned and disinclined to revisit, despite our initial intention to patronize your establishment.

What I paid for 2 bacon, 6 hash brown, and scrambled eggs was not worth the price. The meal was underwhelming. There were few diners but the meal took 25 minutes to get to the table ɔnly to be cold.I was given the incorrect drink- had to ask for straw and condiments. This one is off my list for a return visit.
