“What an incredible find during our adventure at Kings Mountain State Park! As my wife and I explored the park, we worked up an appetite and set out in search of a good meal. That’s when we discovered Hoof & Barrel in York, South Carolina—a true hidden gem. I went all in with a mouthwatering slab of Angus beef, while my wife opted for the Cougar Classic burger. Both were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor. But the experience didn’t stop at the food—Andrea, our server, went above and beyond, making us feel right at home with her outstanding service. If you’re anywhere near York, do yourself a favor and stop by Hoof & Barrel. Even if you’re not hungry, it’s worth the visit!”

“We have been going here for many years and often we order the same thing depending on time of day. This time I went for dinner and order the pecan crusted chicken sandwich which I have ordered several times before. When the food came the sandwich was cut in half. I noticed that half of the sandwich had a small cut of chicken. I thought that the chicken maybe had been cut off centered. But, as I looked at the other half of the sandwich the piece of chicken was the same small size. It literally looked like a chicken tender had been cut in half and placed on the toast. It was very disappointing. We asked the waitress about it and she took it back to the kitchen. In the end they brought us 2 more sandwiches the same way. This sandwich was not worth the money.”

The service is really good and the food was done just right.( the waitress commented that my meal was going to keep someone on there toes) kristie, Ashley, and Amanda are a great team. “Daily specials that are excellent prices! Probably out the door with tax and TIP at $10 if you get just water... Ask for the spicy salsa too, and mix with regular, and it's a treat.
The place is somewhat small and usually packed, but they get you through quickly, food comes out quick and hot.

“Went here for a birthday with family. 10 of us and the staff made sure we were happy with everything on the buffet, made fresh items when we asked. Loud inside and smell of nail place next door was strong.

“We ate here this past Friday and we can't wait to go back! This is a very good restaurant, with great southern and seafood cooking. The bartender, I think his name was Sam was beyond exceptional! He filled us in on the vast menu and gave us a few recommendations that were on par! He made us feel like we were at home and was very attentive to our needs. Normally, when we go out to eat we have to tell our server/bartender what we need. With Sam, he was just on top of things and was on point! We will be back and back again. “I was there today with my wife and 13 of our family members. The food was great with big portions. Our waitress was super nice and kept checking on us to see of we needed anything . We live about 1.5 hours away and was visiting Lake Wylie but I think its worth the trip to go back for the great food. Thanks!”

“Cool little spot. We come at least once a year during the fall to hang out with a cider flight and some donuts. They have live music often and the staff have always been friendly when we come through. Parking can be a little tight when it’s busy but definitely worth a visit.”
