“With all due respect to South Dakota, Skogen would do well in any major city in the US. The food, service, attention to detail, and ambiance are all just right. If you love good food, wine, and desserts (and who doesn’t?) you owe it to yourself to make a reservation at Skogen! Lastly, if there’s one or two people in your party, I highly suggest asking for the counter facing the kitchen, you get to see all the amazing dishes being prepared and it’s fun to chat with the kitchen staff along the way.“
“Let me tell you about Miner's Cup! This place is what small-town America is run off of. Not only do they have charm and character with their building. But the people that work here are genuinely nice people. Their breakfast is delicious. You can tell they go the extra mile with little things like your coffee cake or donuts being served warm! This place should be a Custer staple. The only thing wrong with it is I can't relocate their business and put it in my town . I really think this place will be here for years to come. Bravo Miner's Cup! I'd give you more than 5 stars if I could.“
“Loved the food, and the special was great new York strip steak with 2 sides for $20. The host was super sweet and actually served us more than the waitress. Honestly, only complaint was the waitress. I asked for sugar she never brought it so my little sister got some from the host counter for me, and we never got our drinks refilled or even asked if we needed anything and NO it was not a busy night, I still tipped and left it under the sugar packets.“
“Such a fun place with great food! We stayed in Custer for our spring break vacation to Mount Rushmore and several places were still closed for the season. We were thrilled Buglin Bull was open and definitely not disappointed! Our server, Nicole, was the best and we certainly recommend!“
“Delicious Native American Taco's!Had the most strangest encounter at the restaurant. After touring the beautiful museum we stopped by for taco's.We had our small Yorkie with us so we wanted to eat outside and so we asked. The hostess was unsure and asked the lady manager who promptly said they don't serve the outside seats that's only for the quick convenience store.So I asked can I take to go then, and THEN eat outside. The hostess again asked the manager who again said they don't serve outside. The hostess repeated the question this time emphasizing it's a Togo order, the manager frustratingly said they do NOT do Togo.The hostess apologized confusingly, and so I asked if we dined in and didn't finish could we take the left overs. The hostess asked this to the manager who again repeated loudly THEY DO NOT DO TOGO ORDERS. The hostess explained about eating in and taking the left overs, the manager was then ok with this?So I waited outside while my wife sat down at a table by herself and ordered our meal.The girl who was part of this whole ordeal already knew and asked if she wanted everything in a Togo container, THANK YOU!The food was brought out in a Togo container and so we ate in our car so we didn't upset the manager, just in case.I don't understand why this was so difficult.Major props to the hostess for understanding our situation.Booo to the manager.Food was fantastic!Taco's are big enough they can be shared.I do appreciate the museum allowed pets, we carried him the entire time.Parking: Huge parking lot. Plenty of space.“
“We ordered wings and the menu said 12 wings. We only got 10 and when I asked the waitress said that what it comes with. When I said something she said she would have the cook put 2 more down but wasn't going to wait. The only silverware we got was for my salad and had to ask for a fork for my granddaughter and also had to ask for napkins. Why wouldn't you give silverware and napkins especially when wings were ordered. When I got my bill there was a charge for 2 extra sauces when all we got was one for each basket of wings. Not a very pleasant experience.“
“Truly cannot rave enough about this amazing place! Every single dish we ordered was above and beyond amazing. So incredible that we went several days in a row - and tried something new every day. Everyone at Hjem A.M. is so welcoming, they made us feel like old friends on our second day visiting. We’ll absolutely be back!“
