The elderly gentleman who owns the fort is a hoot. He showed us how to make a rope and how to press a penny. He is so funny. When we went to the dinner show, there were about 500 people. They had the meals stations down to a science. The whole group was fed within twenty minutes. The show was a little bit of all types of genres- 30’s country music to 90’s rock. A great show. It is well worth going.

Surpassed all expectations! The food was great; tender, juicy brisket, flaky biscuits, baked beans, applesauce, baked potato, and spice cake for dessert. The show was terrific; music from all era's, with a lot of audience participation. Everyone had a fabulous time. A must do!!

My husband and I took our teenage kids here while on our SD vacation. It was so fun! My kids loved the roller coaster ride, the meal was fun and delicious, and the music show was fabulous! They played songs from the 30/40s all the way to the 90s and kept it fun the whole time. It's tough to keep people engaged and clapping along for a long period of time ans that's just what they did. Recommend!!

It is a buffet line you go through but they serve. Get a choice of beef or chicken. A potato, beans, corn on cob, applesauce biscuits and carrots cake. The show is pretty much music with some comedy. We enjoyed the show and supper.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchairs are restricted to the back of the hall.

I was a bit let down with this. If there was AC, the experience might have been a bit better. You're sitting on picnic tables on gravel and you have to get all of your own food, and they don't give a lot of food at all. They should provide more drinks and refills, but they charge you extra for sodas. This place is NOT handicap friendly or for older folks. My father had a rough time with his walker.

The Chugwagon Supper and Show was the end of a wonderful Mount Rushmore Bus Tour. The supper was very good and the entertainment was superb. They sang a wide variety of music and added a bit of comedy. A great way to end the day.

We did both, the Chuckwagon Dinner and Show and then the pancake breakfast. Very friendly, very efficient, and very entertaining. Understand, there is no menu at the dinner. Either chicken or beef. And brown beans and potato and a dessert. The variety show was outstanding with Elvis, MC Hammer, and Willie Nelson impersonators. Very much recommend.Parking: Gravel lot, unmarked. No problem.

The dinner and music show is an absolute must see. The beef brisket is smoked to perfection. The plate is small, but don't be fooled, there is plenty of food on the plate. The musicians, the Rockin Wranglers are fantastic!!!!The ladies at the ticket booth are friendly and accommodating. I wish I would have gotten back as they needed a copy of my passes. My intent was not to cause her problems, I hope the error does not fall on her.All said, do see this show, absolutely ? the best!Kid-friendliness: Any child would love the music.Parking: Even if not up close, we'll worth the walk.

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit. The grounds were interesting to wander around and we received some insight on how things were done back back back in the day. The meal was great. We both choose the beef which was fabulous! And the entertainment was top notch! I was expecting banjos and “hillbilly” music but was very very much surprised! We had a great night here!

Stopped for breakfast, yummy Cowboy pancakes. .99 all you can eat with free refills on coffee. Our 2nd time here, and I can't wait to go back. Four adults and spent just a little over $15 total. Water is free, and there's a separate charge for juice and sausages. Rustic interior and very clean the staff is wonderful and welcoming, and they even had a man playing the piano. Take time after you eat to walk around the lot and enjoy the old buildings that were part of the Dances With Wolves movie set. Lots of fun photo opportunities for the kids and adults to enjoy. Gift shop also. (We have not had the biscuits and gravy yet, next visit.)

This was a fabulously good time. Great for families. The food is great and the entertainment is so much fun. Willie Nelson even showed up to jam.If you're looking for something to do, consider a stop here. It was $44 for adults. You get a full meal and dessert served chuckwagon style. The dinner + show lasted about 3 hours. Plan accordingly. And get there a little early and browse the lot where Dances With Wolves was filmed.FYI: They don't serve alcohol but do have coffee, tea, water, and lemonade.
