This is the best hidden gem. Food and service is great. From the outside it doesn't look like much but take a chance and enter you won't be sorry. I now drive from Alabama just to eat at Uncle Larry's.

Small, family owned hole in the wall. The fish is freshly cooked & seasoned well. We had fried catfish, shrimp, okra, cucumber salad & fries. The staff is excellent! There was a downpour while we were there. The waitress made a raincoat & hat for a customer. It was a VERY kind & welcomed gesture. I got the hear the humble beginnings from the son. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

While the hole in the wall appearance was off-putting at first, we still trekked inside as it was tripadvisor's 2nd best in Chattanooga. Between everyone in our party we got a good variety of items and nothing was bad. Dessert was even better! And definitely try the smackin' sauce. The kick in it pairs so well with onion rings, hushpuppies and more! 10/10 would recommend! PLUS, everyone was friendly! Customers, front and kitchen staff. We even got some recommendations for other restaurants and attractions. Great group of people here.

Problem is, the AC is too minimal to be comfortable in the summer and, although the fish is perfect, a sandwich means two slices of store bread naked. Now you can get tartar sauce with the fish, but - - - The service is welcoming, but not instructional.

Came up at a top 10 eatery so we try it and soooo glad we did. I had the talapia with fried okra and fries and tots. My husband had the perch with fries and cucumber salad. Y’all the breading on the fish is so yummms as was the smack sauce. Portions were great size. We left full. The blackberry cobbler was delicious! The employees were kimd and helpful. Enjoyed everything!!! We will definitely be back and will bring friends!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️?????

This is the best fried catfish I’ve ever had. Fried Tilapia was great too. Also don’t pass up the turnip greens and onion rings. Only downer here was dirty coed restroom.

I had forgotten how good fried fish could be until Uncle Larry's. The catfish and tilapia are the best anywhere. The coleslaw and fried okra are outstanding . Hard to save room for the delicious desserts. With the outstanding service it's definitely a place we will return to ! ♡♡

uncle Larry's on Brainerd first of all I call in my order 2 piece fish plate when I arrive home I had a shrimp plate took it back to get my fish plate the fish were fried so hard didn't enjoy it at all it was a waste of my money this was 5/26/22

Wonderful service, clean environment, and wonderful food. Rell and Vin were so attentive and ready to serve. The smack sauce was great with the onion rings, and the Cajun batter complimented the shrimp perfectly. A great dinner experience with some southern hospitality.
