“This is a hidden gem like so many other spots off Summer Ave. I really love their malawah and foul with olive oil. Freshly made to order and I typically take to it to go but the inside is a pleasant, down to earth space. Note: they don't really open until 10:30am even though it says 9am. I just call my orders in now just to be on the safe side.“
“I placed a large catering order from Bala's bistro and I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food! My order was ready at the right time (even though I had to change the pickup time from my original order) and packaged up perfectly to serve at my event. Everyone LOVED the food! I can't wait to go back for lunch with my family. Thank you to your staff for making my event a success!“
“This is one of the guys who started Bala's Bistro in Whitehaven. There are a few of the same items but 90% different menu with good variety. I sampled the salmon meatball and will get it next time. The Thiep Yapp is a good meal. The chicken is seasoned well, veggies are tender and everything has a slight hint of spice without being flaming hot. They need a,bigger place already. Folks were streaming in to try the new West African neighborhood favorite!“
“Amazing food! Food tasted real good, and very authentic! Only complaint is that it is on the expensive side. Other than that, the service was great, the sisters are good peoples. As for ambiance, it is a pop up so it's a little hard to find, right now they're set up in a kitchen building. But anyways, 5/5 from me and my dad.“
“I was heading to another restaurant when I drove by this restaurant. It's kinda of hidden but when I saw the grill smoking outside I had to stop. I just returned from Ghana a couple months ago, and this tasted as good as any food I ate when I was there. The flavors and spice were perfect. I would definitely recommend and looking forward to trying different plates. My chicken and rice were delicious“
“My original African Food spot was closed so I decided to try something different. Food was good. I ordered 2 fried tilapia and Jollof rice. 8/10 wish the fish had a little bit more seasoning but overall it was worth the money. I also ordered another fried talipa with couscous to go. The hibiscus drink was very tasty. It’s safe to say I will be back.“
“Wow!! I have always loved Ethiopian food, and each Ethiopian restaurant I've been to is different but in a good way! I had the vegetarian dish, and oh my gosh. It's impossible to decide which is your favorite because they are all soooo good! The potato salad, beet salad, red lentils, and yellow split peas were probably my favorites. And of course, the injera was to die for!“
