“This is a cool fun stop. The restaurant has a long history and I wish the walls could talk. When I saw chocolate gravy on the menu, I had to order it. My mother made chocolate gravy and I had never seen it on a menu. They served it with pancakes, however, we always had it on buttered sourdough biscuits. The gravy was excellent and tasted close to Mom's.“

“This is another hidden gem in Memphis. Locally run, well-managed, just off the University of Memphis campus (next to the Tiger bookstore). There is often a wait for seating, but so worth it. Today's feast included the open-faced Florentine omelet (homemade pesto, fresh shredded mozzarella, spinach, tomatoes), cheese grits and one of the City's best Southern biscuits. Service was prompt and friendly. Will be back!“
