This is one of the guys who started Bala's Bistro in Whitehaven. There are a few of the same items but 90% different menu with good variety. I sampled the salmon meatball and will get it next time.The Thiep Yapp is a good meal. The chicken is seasoned well, veggies are tender and everything has a slight hint of spice without being flaming hot.They need a,bigger place already. Folks were streaming in to try the new West African neighborhood favorite!

Everything I got here was FIRE!! The fataya was one of the best fried meat pies I've ever had and the veggie garnishes for everything were Chefs
This was surprisingly one of the best meals I've ever had in Memphis in life. The Greens, spinach patties and the turkey leg was the juiciest I've even known plus the seasoning, the sauce on that thang was beyond delicious. My Mom who doesn't like eating much had the brisket sandwich and got through it in 2 days and she does not like left overs. This food was so incredible I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the owner who was so mannerable. I learned they have 2 locations from that call. Amazing

My friend and I saw this restaurant on the list for MBRW '24 and decided to give it a try. We went as soon as they opened, so the wait wasn't too bad. We both had trouble deciding what to eat, as everything looked so delicious! I finally decided on the Salmon Thiou (pronounced choo) and got a side salad to go along with it. When the server brought out our food, the portion sizes was ridiculous! There was seriously enough for 3 separate meals! And while it was delicious, my salmon dish was really spicy. I didn't see anything to indicate the spice level, so I really couldn't enjoy it to the fullest. This dish is a salmon meatball, and it is likely be bound together with bread, which is an issue for gluten-sensitive people such as myself. I ended up giving the remainder of my dish to my husband who is a spice guy and he definitely enjoyed it. The young lady working the register was kind and patient. The restaurant was clean, homey, and inviting. Overall, I think hubby and I will definitely be back to try some other fares. I'll be sure to ask about the spice levels and ingredients the next time though!
