My wife and I just had dinner at Chop House. We ordered the chicken pizza florentine as an appetizer. It was very flavorful and simply delicious. Our entrees were the lamb chops and ribeye steak. Lamb chops had a little too much fat but were delicious. The ribeye was cooked a perfect medium and very tasty. The highlight of our evening was our server/bartender Devin. He was very attentive to our needs without being bothersome or annoying. We both noticed how he provided great service for everyone at the bar on a very busy Friday dinner. Kudos to Devin for being very polite, kind, friendly, and gracious. He deserved the tip we gave him $$! Overall we had a great date night and will most certainly sit at the bar again especially if Devin is working. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there is always room for improvement.

Very chewy and overdone steak. Couldn’t even chew it. Good sized portions. Bottled salad dressing. Won’t be back.

I expect more out of a Chop House, but it was ok. I sampled several plates with several sides. I started with the sweet corn tamale cakes (decent and fresh) then the chicken fried chicken (half size of Cracker Barrel but tasted very good) the side of Mac and cheese was the pinochle of my meal. The creamed spinach was room temperature and bland. The crab cake was ok… the snap peas very good. My rainbow trout was paper thin and slightly over cooked…. It tasted ok but the mango salsa was excellent. It was fresh and had a good kick. The corn crème brûlée was very good. The sweet potato was typical but slightly overcooked. Our server was very helpful and on top of things! Will I return? Probably not. M’boro has way too many nice restaurants to have a so-so meal here.

Carefully prepared food, perfectly cooked and served. I had the Prime Rib sandwich, Beth had the picatta chicken,. We both had dinner salads and. "Old Fashions" cocktails. Wonderful experience in every way. Including the server bartender and Chief. Perfectly seasoned. We didn't touch the salt and pepper. We didn't think it would be polite to lick the plates. But it was tempting.John & Beth Hampton VA
