I've been to Central BBQ in Memphis. It is an exceptional experience! An institution. I've been to Central BBQ in Hillsboro Village twice and have been equally disappointed both times. Normally if I don't care for a restaurant, I just don't review it. But I'm making an exception. The first time I went I had the ribs. They were tough, I didn't even finish them. Ribs should fall off the bone. These did not. They were not tender. Just a bad experience. Today, I ordered the brisket plate. The brisket was fatty. I picked around it and finished it. I ordered the onion rings and green beans for sides. The onion rings were fine, but the green beans were not remotely what I'm accustomed to in the south. The service was fine. The ambiance was generic. Honestly, if the food is good, I don't care what the ambiance is. I won't be back. I can go to Martin's in Nolensville if I want good BBQ.

It is extremely rare to find a restaurant that is not super expensive, to have great customer service. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a smile and hello. The food was reasonably priced and came out very quick. Everyone in the restaurant as they passed said hello and asked if we needed anything. I was honestly shocked and did not expect the kindness we received. The wings were some of the best I have had in Nashville, TN. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
