One morning they don't have biscuits. Next they don't have sausage. How in the hell can you be a breakfast restaurant and not have items on your menu.

I have eaten at the restaurant several times and the food tastes great every time. The service is spectacular and all the staff is very friendly and personable. The server Ms. Karen is one of the best people I have ever met and always greets me with a smile. The gentleman that cooks the food is a really nice and friendly as well. Colt the owner is a very good person and I hope he realizes what a great place and Staff he has. Both are irreplaceable.Vegetarian options: There are salads of all types and all kinds of fresh vegetables offer that tastes great.Dietary restrictions: If you have a Dietary Restriction or allergy the staff will change gloves and wash hands before handling the food. I have seen this firsthand and a customer can’t ask for anything betterParking: There is plenty of parking around the square in shelbyville.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome and are treated with nice and friendly service as well. I don’t have children, but if I did I would bring them to eat at Pope’s.Wheelchair accessibility: There are paved side walks and a wheelchair ramp to enter in the establishment.

Went there with my kids for the first time and it will be the last time. First when we got in, the server step on my foot and she didn’t say sorry, second my kid’s needed a refill for their drinks, she took their cups and I thought she would refill them but no, their cups are gone , she already put it in the back even my kids are not done eating yet and it was clear for her that my kids have still food on their plates. , and third I asked for to-go box and she threw it to me instead of handing it to me. I didn’t say anything, I didn’t want to make a scene there because I was with my kids, I just wanted to have a good time with them but I’m really disappointed with our experience there.

Long overdue for this review, but I visited home in Tennessee for Thanksgiving and found this place for breakfast. Country ham is very hard to find where I live in the midwest and I was excited to see it was on the menu here. Unfortunately, they were sold out, at least at the first part of our meal; a shipment came in as we were eating and the waitress asked if we'd like some, and of course we said yes! Y'all the food is so good... I actually flashed back to the country ham my grandfather used to fry. When I told the waitress this when leaving, she said it was strange but that wasn't the first time they had received a compliment like that! Highly recommend!

Popes is a wonderful place not only to eat but to socialize with everyone and to enjoy each other’s company but if you haven’t met the owners then I think everybody should he’s got the best hamburger cheeseburgers in town and also also the best cook that there is in town. The food is absolutely amazing, so if you haven’t eaten At Popes I think you should one of the best hometown operated restaurants still around. With southern food and hospitality.

This place has lost its touch they have downsized the portions it takes twice as long now to take an order with the new system the waitress are not properly trained the service has not been the same since miss Jennifer was fired in my opinion that was a absolute mistake because now it takes 3 people to do what she could do I'm very disappointed me and my co workers typically eat here at least 4 days a week for lunch however we have decided we won't be eating at this establishment anymore the overall vibe has went from 110% to 5% very disappointing who ever the owner is has got to do better and I'd start with hiring miss Jennifer back that was one of the factors on not eating here anymore as well
