“We were traveling through the Panhandle and stopped for a night in Amarillo. We asked the Hampton Inn front desk clerk to recommend good local place to have an early dinner and she immediately responded with Coyote Bluff Cafe and wrote the address for us. When we got there we looked at each other bewildered and hesitated then decided that the parking lot was full so we’d give it a try. Our waitress was quick and very friendly, our food was out in a jiffy and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the fries were fantastic. I will recommend this place to anyone I know who is headed to Amarillo!”

“One of my favorite spots in Amarillo! The owner is wonderful and always comes by the tables to make sure your order is perfect. Their Pad Si Ew is delicious, but my go-to order is always the Lao Sausages and sticky rice, and the sweet sticky rice with mango slices and coconut ice cream are a perfect ending. If the menu says it's 🌶️, it may feel a bit more like 🌶️🌶️🌶️ . They can adjust the heat for you in the kitchen.”

“Overall very good - been several times, normally as an early (4pm) dinner. This was the first time we made reservations. We waited 20 minutes with reservations, after checking in at the booth. Several parties who arrived after us without reservations were seated before us (we were a party of 2). I went back to the booth to inquire and they never notified me. Be aware they allow non-service dogs in the restaurant. The table they first gave us was next to 2 large pit bull-Shepard mixes and we asked for another table. Not dining in a restaurant next to dogs. Unsanitary! Thankfully we were moved. Food is consistently good every time we have dined there! Service in the restaurant was very good.”

We had an out-of-town guest who'd never eaten at the Plaza, so of course with our rave reviews we had to get takeout. Disappointedly I called and "Tony" answered the phone. The result being Tony gave us a credit for what we should of had on our next order. “OMG. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I just left a doctor appointment and wanted to take myself out to lunch. I did an online search for local restaurants nearby and Shelby's is on the way home for me. The people were friendly, the waitress was wonderful and served everything quickly. The salad before the meal had tons of ingredients and the honey mustard dressing was amazing. I got the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy with sauteed onions. Chef's kiss! It was hot, flavorful, and a very large portion. Kind of a small town diner style cafe at Tradewinds Airport with cool nostalgic stuff about the original owner on the wall. Even the other customers were friendly. I sat near the entrance so people had to walk by me to leave and every single person smiled and said hello. I heard a person at a table on one side of me talk about how they love coming here and every meal is great. I heard another person across from me say that they had never been here before but it was their new favorite spot. Amarillo friends, if you haven't been here, you should stop by. 👍”

It made me wonder if people just don’t know this place exists because it definitely deserves more attention. It’s tucked away on the back side of a strip center, so it’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it.

I ordered one of the specialty pizzas and customized it with a couple of extra toppings, and it was absolutely fantastic. The crust was delicious, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. I couldn’t leave without trying the blackberry bread pudding for dessert, and I’m so glad I did. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already great meal.

If you’re in Amarillo and love pizza, don’t let the hidden location fool you. Fire Slice is absolutely worth seeking out, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town!”

“The best falafel I think I have ever had. It had thin crispy crust with a really lovely moist center. I had it sandwich style and got to try a few individual balls too. The baklava was also incredible. I thought I wasn’t a fan of baklava in general, but I think I just haven’t had good baklava. It wasn’t sickly sweet or too dense. The baba ganoush and the hummus were also so yummy with fresh fried pita. The family that owns and runs this truck were unbelievably kind and hospitable. You could tell they were just over the moon we came out to try them. They went out of their way to give us samples of things to try. I cannot wait to try their dolmas or traditional breakfast or milk cake. Will 100% be returning.”

It’s 102 today on August 20 and I’m looking for some ice cream. I actually park in Dairy Queen parking lot. And those of us who are in the know realize that if you see any kind of food truck, that place has to be investigated! That have one in their parking lot. So I dissed DQ (no hate) and investigate I did.
I ordered a barbecue potato that’s the size of two softballs sitting next to each other split open, which is phenomenal because I’m eating it as I’m talk to texting this review right now.
I also ordered a strawberry cheesecake milkshake that I crushed before I even got back to my hotel, which is literally less than two minutes away from this establishment. I was sucking through the straw and then it just stopped dispensing and to my surprise, there was basically a slice of cheesecake inside this milkshake and I couldn’t be a happier person because of that.
So if you don’t know about this place, and you live in Amarillo… shame on you.
If you’re passing through and need a cool place to stop with some really good ice cream and phenomenal eats, this place is right off of Soncy Road off of interstate 40 less than a 90 second drive to the south and I highly recommend it.”

“After a long day of travel the other day we stopped in. We had the sweetest server, Derrick. His warm bubbly personality made us feel cared for and his smile could light up a room. He made us laugh and kept us entertained. Honestly some of the best service we’ve had in a long time. The food was delicious and warm. I wish we had one of these near our home!!”
