Baos are soggy! Or maybe undercooked? I brought them back to the register and the register lady brought them back to the chef and the chef said they were supposed to be like that ??‍♀️ I lived in China three years - and based on that experience they’re not supposed to be soggy. And no offer to remake them.

First time at Bao'd Up, and I liked it. It was not amazing, but it was not terrible. We had ordered 2 pork bao, 1 terriyaki chicken bao (orange bao), 1 egg custard bao (pink bao), and soup dumplings. Here are my thoughts:Pros:1. Nice selection of foods. There were not too many options, and there were pictures provided for the different bao options.2. Pricing was decent.3. The flavor for all items was good. The favorite out of all the items was the soup dumplings. Not lacking in flavor.4. Good amount of filling inside the baos. It's not a small amount that some asian fusion locations would have.5. Staff is friendly. Decor is aesthetic.6. Bf liked the baos and how they are.7. Soup dumplings had a tasty broth, and the pork filling was cooked all the way.Cons:1. Although food was flavorful, it was not the most amazing. The baos had a good filling, but it did have a lot of moisture, which made the baos soggy on the inside. The sogginess made the bao too mushy to enjoy.2. Bao bun is not as fluffy.3. Pork bao was good, but the teriyaki chicken did not taste like chicken at first. I got tired of the chicken bao pretty quickly, so I didn't finish it.3. Soup dumplings were small for the price. I wished the dumplings were a bigger size. The wrapping was very fragile. It ripped after trying to lift it to eat, which usually means it's overcooked.4. Baos came with 2 sauces. One was a bbq sauce, and the other was like a burger sauce. It felt unnecessary to have these sauces.5. No soy sauce or vinegar were available for the soup dumplings.Bonus:1. Friends had the DanDan noodles, which included friend chicken. The fried chicken was placed inside the bowl, which made parts of the chicken soggy, so it lost some of the crispness. The sauce for the noodles was more like a broth, so it was not like traditional DanDan noodles. Despite that fact, the noodles themselves were actually pretty flavorful and tasted good. It was, however, salty, which made it a little hard to fully enjoy.2. Friends also got the brown sugar milk tea and Thai milk tea. Brown sugar milk tea with boba was pretty good. The boba had an actual brown sugar taste and not a caramel taste. Thai tea was very milky, and it tasted more like cookie. It did not have enough tea flavor, so it was not steeped long enough.Overall, Bao'd Up was alright. It is called a modern Asian fusion, so the flavor profiles catered more towards American tastes. It did not hold a lot of traditional features for Chinese food. I would not come back for another time.

The app is confusing and there's no way to edit anything on your sandwich like leaving off green onions etc. The employees don't understand the app either. I've had to order twice at the counter and not get any points. Otherwise everything else is great.

First let me say, the szechaun fries are amazing! Those get 5 stars. The rest? Ehhhh...I got the Texas Trio, and I was disappointed. They were fine, but I found them really bland. The brisket was the best one, but even that one was overshadowed by how thick the bun is, which i wish was a bit thinner to compensate for the filling. I couldn't even identify the flavor of the other two. i'll be back for the fries...I'll skip the bao.
