Service was great. Food was average. It was way too loud. Not in a hurry to go back.

The food is great, and every employee is extremely nice! I’d recommend getting the Rene’s Awesome Enchiladas!

Service was good just like the enchiladas and queso. FYI, our party of 2 arrived at 6P on a Friday and waited an hour before being seated (totally reasonable). So be prepared to grab a margarita from the bar and relax on the porch or kill some time wandering the aisles at Terra Toys down the road. We ordered two plates of the Dart Bowl Enchiladas, a small Eldorado queso, and 2 house margaritas for $64.95.

Any time I want a healthy and vegetarian meal, this is an option that pops in my head. Seating can be problematic if you go at peak hours. So, book way ahead of time -- and days! Otherwise, be prepared for a long wait at lunch and dinner hours.Vegetarian options: The last time I went there, I had the Veggie Crunchwrap Supreme (see photo). It was excellent!

The food was OK. I got the pork shoulder dish which I believe was around 21 dollars. It was slow cooked pork shoulder crisped in a frying pan served with tortillas and cabbage. From experience this is a very easy dish that is basically fool proof. I’d rather make it at home. I could feed two families of four pork shoulder for 21 dollars. Was not worth the money but would give them another try with a different dish. The staff were great! The salsa’s were pretty good too!

Imaginative Tex Mex menu and eclectic decor. So many great things on their menu. A stalwart local establishment.

They have the best chips, salsa, and queso I’ve had in Austin. I got the Rene’s Enchiladas and it was amazing. Shoutout to our server Lindsay, probably the best server I’ve ever had. Super friendly, personable, and helpful.

The service here was excellent. Tony was one of the best servers I’ve ever had.I wasn’t a fan of the food. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. We ordered a few of the salsas. I didn’t care for the taste of any of them. I tried a basic cheese enchilada and thought it was way too deep red for me (too much dried chili seasoning). The picadillo was good. My favorite were the drinks. Hats off to the bartender! The cheesecake was pretty good too! You’ll love it if you like cinnamon.I like the idea of the twist on Tex-Mex. I probably should have tried the ribs. I definitely think it’s worth a visit to see if it’s more your style.

My wife and I ate lunch at Eldorado Cafe. Our server was fantastic. She was very helpful with the menu.We ordered the salsa sampler which provides 6 different salsas ranging from mild to very hot. All 6 were great! We could not pick a single favorite - they were all so flavorable. We also ordered their guacamole - another great choice. I ordered the Honolulu mini pork tacos - crisp and the flavors were wonderful. My wife ordered the special for that day and enjoyed it very much.We want to return soon!

The place is similar to a Tex-Mex diner feel, so no need to get extra fancy. The chips are salted and the salsa is flavorful. I ordered the mole chicken enchiladas and a blackberry margarita. I also subbed in the triple potato side for the black beans. The rice tasted light (not starchy), the enchiladas were outstanding with their sauce, and their food was seasoned correctly. There were some fun decorations, along with flyers for a local animal shelter. The dog pictures along the hallway leading to the bathroom were precious --are those the owner's dogs? The women's bathroom also had period products, FYI. Pricing seemed fair for the amount of food given -- it would be about or under 25 dollars per person without alcoholic beverages, but could be 15 depending on what you order.Kid-friendliness: They offer crayons and coloring pages to families. The pages are drawings made by local kids. Kid's menu had variety and seemed reasonably priced, from what I saw. 6.95

Not only was the food amazing, their service is outstanding. Every member of their staff we encountered was kind, personable, efficient, and gave excellent recommendations. We had their queso, a flight of their six delicious salsas, a tasty veggie burrito with generous portions, house margaritas that are perfect, a tamarindo cocktail that was sweet, tangy, and refreshing. We also shared some items around the table like a mescal and blackberry cocktail on special, some flan (which was classic and perfect), and some micheladas. The owner even stopped by our table to say hello and wish us a good trip as we came from out of town (Utah). Definitely go here if you come to Austin!

Ok, so I wanted to eat here on vacation but I have my tiny pup along with. Thus, I saw this place with outdoor seating and flautas for my girlfriend and thought it was perfect. Unfortunately, they don't serve entres on the patio. So just know they do love pups, just don't have the ability to serve humans food in the area pups are allowed.

Every time we tried to get in this place there was a wait, now we know why. Mexican fare at another level! The Carnitas Cubanos alone would bring us back, but the customer service (thanks Susan) was world class and the entrees and homemade tortillas were so tasty. Thank you, El Dorado Cafe -- we'll be back!
