Extremely thrown off and disappointed in this place! Like.. damn!! All the reviews are so good we were so excited to take our parents here for the last day of them visiting us in Austin, we thought this would be a great last stop! But man wrong choice! I don't know if it was the staff or what. But this was our experience. The staff was not friendly the girl that took our order with a table of four people did not write down one thing she said she would memorize at all. When our food arrived she had mixed up my sides and brought something I did not order, which was annoying because she should have just written down the damn orders it's not that hard.My boyfriend and his step dad ordered pancakes of which both came with what runny uncooked eggs on top of them which made the pancakes wet and mushy and the eggs were not edible they looked like they were thrown on a cool pan for one minute and put on top of a pancake not very appetizing to see. We nicely asked for scrambled eggs instead (the pancakes were $15) they brought out slimy untasteful scrambled eggs. How nice. My tea tasted like bug spray but at this point so many things had gone wrong I didn't even want to bring it up. The music blaring the whole time was rap with very unappealing language, wasn't even good rap. Music that is for all age groups should be playing in an establishment like this. It seems a lot of families come in for brunch, so the music selection was another annoying thing. Our bill was super expensive for just us four. My meal was good the fries and salads are good, just don't know what happened to the customer service here. The staff was very unfriendlyVery disappointing that was the last stop before our family headed home it was a horrible experience. Definitely do not recommend this place for a family brunch. Hopefully they check on their staff, cause this was so far from a good experience.

Ok food , pricey for what you get. Steak over cooked and servers were not friendly and not friendly at all , especially Erin. No bottomless or drink specials. I say pass on this everyone

Stopped in here on a really quiet afternoon. We got a cold brew which was delicious with oat milk. Nice music playing and good spacing between tables. We had the biscuits with jam to start which were incredible. Served warm. My boyfriend got the brisket and pulled pork sandwich which he enjoyed, but was messy -- as to be expected lol. I got the cobb salad. It came missing the bacon, but they took it off the bill which was kind. Otherwise pleasant experience, will come back to try the meatloaf sandwich!

YUM. The pancakes were the most delicious pancakes I've ever had. Simple and perfect. Super fluffy and sweet. They are great with the fried chicken and spicy butter with syrup. Really enjoyed this meal. Arrive early because it's a popular place for breakfast/brunch

The food was pretty good but I'm giving this place a 5 star review for their great service Although everything in town seemed to be closed or way too busy, Holy Roller managed the business well. The server and kitchen also accommodated a special request to have the migas with their steak. Drinks were decently good as well. Would def come back.

Holy Roller is a great place for an indulgent meal. Prior to COVID, when deciding where to eat, my coworkers and I would first decide if we wanted healthy or unhealthy. If unhealthy, Holy Roller was a top pick since it was in easy walking distance. There isn't really a "light" option on menu (even the salads feel unhealthy somehow) and that's why we liked it. The Grilled Cheesus used to be my go-to - buttery white toast with lots of cheese, a tomato jam, and avocado. Yum! At lunch on a weekday, there was hardly ever a wait. I like the decor in the restaurant too - eclectic and weird and always something to comment on.I hadn't gone to Holy Roller since COVID, so I decided to do takeout from there this weekend. After seeing Holy Roller on Diner, Drive-In's, and Dives, I decided I had to try the Meatloaf Sandwich that was featured. I'm glad I did. I never had meatloaf growing up, so I have nothing to compare it to, but the meatloaf was seasoned well and delicious. I also liked crunchy cheese. I was worried it might all be too greasy, but that was not the case; the white toast was still perfectly toasty. It came with fries, which were good. If you get the fries, I recommend ordering them with a side of the comeback sauce. So good!A note if you choose to order takeout - they don't have a curbside option, so I had to go into the restaurant to get my food. It was ready promptly though so I didn't need to be inside the restaurant long, which was good.Overall, I've always enjoyed Holy Roller and I'll be back again at some point - there is more I want to try on the menu!

Wonderful service. Social distancing and masks enforced. Their spirit free cocktails were great. Highly recommended their banana pudding

Brisket fries and the biscuit from my dish were really good. Apart from that, not super impressive. Food was good and service was good but I've tried better in Austin!

Tip: Expect the long wait for food due to limited staff because of COVID (approx. 40 mins).Review: I got the Casbah. It came out pretty great. However I knocked down a star due to the lack of seasoning on the fried chicken, and there wasn't enough sauce to make up for it either. Although the texture of the chicken was great. I feel this can be improved and it would easily make this dish 5-star quality.
