In town from TN for a wedding and saw lots of recommendations for this spot. Easy street parking, waited around 15min in line outside at noon on a Thursday. Best bite was definitely the sliced brisket sandwich - super juicy brisket with tasty pickles and onions on top. Split a side of pickles, potato salad, and Mac n cheese which were good but not life changing. Rotating frozen cocktails were tasty and they have lots of bar offerings. Bonus was a server taking drink orders while we waited in line! Definitely recommend this as a lunch spot on your Austin travels.Parking: Lots of available free street parking

Our first time in Austin and we definitely couldn't leave without trying BBQ in the area. We were recommended La Barbecue by a BBQ enthusiast and it did not disappoint. The 45+min wait added to the experience so no complaints there. We really enjoyed ordering drinks while waiting in line. Ordering food was a quicker and easier process for someone like me who had no clue what to order. So I got a little bit of everything plus a big order of the shells and cheese. Lots of seating area outside and inside as well. PS: Restrooms were so much fun ?Kid-friendliness: Bring the kids if they don't mind the wait. There is a water station up front. My two kids didn't mind the almost one hour wait theybsaid the food was worth it .. especially the shells and cheese.

Food is better than average but it’s not the best BBQ by any means. Highly recommended the pickled onion though. The main thing this place lacks is service. They averaged 2- 3 minutes per person. Which is insane. I timed groups after groups after groups and if you’re coming with a Group of 4, be prepared for at least 8-12 minutes just for them to put your order on a tray. INSANE! Okay, hear me out. McDonald averages 20 seconds per order. Now I’m not saying this place is fast food because it’s not. But 2-3 minutes per diner, who mostly self serve (aka no waiter) is just really bad. That’s a lot of waiting for a counter service.

You might get better but you can't pay more. Eg $26 for two 4oz mimosas in plastic cups. But the brisket is the best we've ever had.Parking: If you get there early, ie before they open, you will likely get a spot in their lotElse you'll find parking on the streets in the neighborhood. So drop off someone(s) to hold your spot in the line and then go find parking.

I never thought I would wait 3 hours for food but when in Austin you do all the things. They do run out of food so if you can, get there early. We got the last of the brisket when we walked in to order. They have an awesome outdoor patio for seating and iced water outside to drink while you wait in line. The best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had. Meat falls apart and is so flavorful.

The chopped brisket is just meh. Their time estimate will not be accurate (it will definitely be longer). If they’re out of the sliced brisket and beef ribs, GO ELSEWHERE. (Sides are good, however.)

Food was ok, about same as all the other BBQ place in town. I recommend getting food to go. Seating is limited, the music played was too loud to have a conversation and needs to come with warning of explicit lyrics. I don't think I've ever heard that many F bombs in a ten minute period. Of course maybe that is their plan so people don't stick around after eating but doesn't make you want to go back again.

insane line.. delicious food.. cool bathroom decor with music. ? worth the wait.
been looking for a reasonably priced, good tastinh bbq place that wouldn’t have me sitting in a line for hours, and I thknk I finally found it!not a fan of the bbq sauce (I prefer a sweeter sauce), but otherwise all good. I made a silly mistake and ordered food for 4 days in advance and went up there to explain this to them; they just let me have my order on the same day, which was nice!note that you should, however, get there earlier in the day. they run out of stuff, especially on weekends. I also liked that there was outdoor seating!

I probably had the best brisket I have ever had while eating here. Every piece of meat I had was just amazing, everything was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. Even though the wait to order was long, it was definitely worth it. The restaurant is part of a street that is filled with art which makes it a great place to look around. Overall, I had a great time here and the food was beyond amazing. I would totally recommend this place if you are looking for some great barbecue.-Siena, 11 years
