Decor isn't grand but the food it outstanding. Best Catfish this side of New Orleans. Friendly folks too. Authentic Gumbo and a darn good peach pie.

Great place to eat with very authentic south Louisiana and New Orleans food. That said, good luck catching them when they're open. They have very uneven and unpredictable hours, so call ahead to avoid disappointment.

Amazing food. Amazing owners. You won't be disappointed! Make sure to try their homemade bread!

A hidden gem, the food is so good and authentic!!!! The owners are extremely friendly and if you choose to dine in, it's BYOB. You can't go wrong with this spot!

I just want to start by saying I have a very low standard for most restaurants/fast food places. A vast majority of my reviews are 4 or 5 stars. I'm a very easy customer to please, but this was easily the worst experience I've had ordering anything from a restaurant.First, when I called to place in my order for pickup, after listing 3 items, the person tells me "oh one moment, let me get a pen."After that, he makes me repeat the order, which he gets wrong. Then, I arrive to the store and tried to pay, they once again asked me what I ordered, nobody wrote a ticket or anything of what was actually in the bag. So I repeated my order for the third time. That's when she tried to add it in her head, and after it was too many items, she went to register and asked me to repeat my order once again. I repeated my order for the FOURTH time and we were charged for everything that I listed out. They completely forgot to put one of the sides in the bag, and the red beans and rice tasted like it was sitting in a pot for hours, I threw half of it away. So we had to get food elsewhere, after spending $30 here. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because I'm shocked they didn't give me food poisoning. Please avoid at all costs.

Best Cajun food I've had in a long long time! It's a small Mom & Pop place, but everything on the menu is awesome. The owners are very friendly & great service!

A little slice of Nawlins in the Texas hill country. The food: excellent and authentic! The ambience: It has true New Orleans feel!! The owners: Aaron and Dimple, who are the nicest people my wife and I have met in a long time. I had the jambalaya and my wife had the etouffe. They were both big portions and so very tasty.

I wish I took a picture of my food before I ate it but this is THE best Cajun spot I've had here in Austin. I ordered a Shrimp Po'boy, red beans and rice, and 2 pies made in house. Everything had great flavor and the portion size was incredible. I originally thought they placed the shrimp on the side of my po'boy but was delighted.... No ECSTATIC to see that it was actually overflowing with shrimp. Would definitely recommend this place and I'll definitely be returning to try more on the menu!!

The New Awlins cafe has food close to New Orleans’ best. I go regularly and always enjoy their food. I cannot say how good they are often enough.

Don’t expect your traditional restaurant. If you’re planning on dining in, tables may not even be set up with chairs. You may have to move a table and chairs around just to make yourself a place to sit. You may have to hunt for your own menu someplace. It’ll even make you laugh a little. But the food is absolutely amazing. Very original!

This restaurant is great. I had the gumbo, catfish poboy, boudin balls, and crawfish bread. My wife has the crawfish etouffee. The gumbo put mine to shame, the catfish on my poboy was cooked to perfection and not hard and over fried. The crawfish bread was amazing and will probably be better tomorrow morning for breakfast.
