On our road trips, we've eaten in a lot of hotel restaurants with very mixed results. On a road trip to west Texas, chance had us eating at the Onion Creek Grille in the Austin Southpark Hotel. Excellent place if you like pasta and like customizing what you want. They make the pasta in front of you - quite generous portions - and you can customize what you want (meat, veggies, type of pasta, type of pasta sauce) - it’s cooked fresh and I love it hot and freshly cooked.Probably they should advertise this hidden treasure a bit more!!

I came for the breakfast buffet on a Sunday at 7:30 am but was informed by the lovely waitress that the hotel only makes the breakfast buffet available when hotel occupancy is close to 100% which wasn't the case today. I decided to stay anyway and order from the menu an American Breakfast, which came out pretty quick given I was the only customer. It was tasty, well presented and a good value for the portion given.
