Our waiter, Jordan, was as incredible as the carbonara. His passion for food and wine poured over, creating an atmosphere of excitement for every dish and drink we ordered. Vespaio was a wonderful experience. Do not pass up this restaurant.

The oldest restaurant on Congress for a reason. This place stands the test of time. The food is hot, fresh, authentic and always delivered by the most professional, courteous weight staff. It's beautiful and romantic, but also loud and bustling if you're meeting friends. I'm decently sure the supply might be the most important dish in Austin. I would do some terrible things if faced with the option of doing them or losing the suppli forever. The pasta dishes are freshly made, and they even do risotto made on the spot which does take time but it's worth the wait. I appreciate that there's different size options so that if you want to share, drown your sorrows, or just get a taste to satisfy an urge, there's an option for all of it. Every time I'm here I'm here for hours, and the waiter never rushes us, they never get fed up and they're always full of knowledge. Just low-key high key love Vespaio!

This was my family's first time dining at Vespaio. I would say it was good, but not amazing. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were nice. My wife really liked the Lasagna and everyone liked the Risotto balls. All the other dishes were just unimpressive. The octopus was slightly overcooked and in too much sauce. The bolognese was 80% meat and 20% pasta. It tasted ok, but not as expected. The mussels were cooked well, but the broth was very basic. They were very nice and brought my daughter out a Tiramisu for her birthday. Unfortunately, she doesn't like coffee or liquor, so she just handed it off.

Who knew?? In such a busy area, who knew there would be such a beautiful restaurant? You'd walk right passed if you hadn't researched.. Our server come Sommelier Ethan was well knowledged, funny and a dream to talk to. His attentiveness was second to none. The food is authentically Italian with a beautiful modern twist. Must must must book on popular days

Nice to see that consistency reigns at Vespaio. Superior cuisine, ambience, and service. I didn't make it the first year but got there as soon as I could (1999)! Moved away in 2012 and now back in town for a UT student daughter's sorority dad's weekend and was so very pleased to introduce her to the restaurant. Thanks mightily for a wonderful evening.

Though it has been beautifully remodeled, this seems to have come at the cost of the quality of the food. Still a lovely spot but I can't understand why the food has become so mediocre for such high prices.
