“I really wish I could give this place more than five stars. The food was outstanding. I went in with a five person party and we all ordered different dishes EVERY SINGLE THING was good. Well, the macaroni and cheese was a little plain and runny, but other than that all other food was amazing. The blackened eyed peas were fixed to southern style perfection. As well as the cabbage that burst with flavor as soon as it hits your tongue. Pancakes are fluffy and perfectly flipped, the French toast was superbly done. Everything is seasoned just right. I could go on and on an out the food but I will just say try this place out and whatever you order, you will be delighted. We were served by Heather who was attentive, efficient, and very friendly. She provided great service. The atmosphere is nice inside the restaurant, very clean, and inviting. Great for business lunches, after church supper, or family dinner. The prices are on par for your normal soul food places. We paid about $120 dollars for five meals and two to go orders. It was worth every penny though. I come in at least twice a month on a Sunday during brunch time. I come either by myself or with my two daughters; they love the it too. They always get the steak and eggs. Ever since I started to come here they have been so welcoming. I’ve been coming here since 2020. The place is always clean. The food is outstanding. I’ve had their steak and eggs, chicken fried chicken, meat lover bowl, biscuit and gravy and their Texas burger. The cooks do an eggcellent job with the food. People were dressed in a variety of ways, from casual to what I would consider church clothes. Service was excellent, and so were are dishes, I had the traditional eggs benedict and my friend had the avocado toast (with eggs, fruit, bacon) We are already thinking about coming back next year as we attend the same event annually. The beans did not have the spicy taste I was anticipating and for my taste needed a bit more seasoning, but was ok.And the same for the chicken fried steak, I would have preferred a bit more season in the batter, however my steak was hot and fresh and the gravy helped on the season loss.My pick up for my order was easy with great sevice. “Went there for the first time last night. I usually tip more and prefer to tip cash so the wait staff can report it or not. I was disappointed with automatic tipping. Next time I will use my AmEx card, tip cash, cross out the automatic tipping and write CASH. I love that AmEx makes the merchant prove the charge correct with a snapshot of the receipt. I refuse to be bullied by stupid policies. If they change my receipt back I will just dispute the tip portion and never come back. The contract that the merchant signs when they take AmEx provides many more protections like this that's why small businesses don't take it. It is not the fees.“
“Very delicious food, good portion for the price paid. If you order chicken regularly, they are at least 4 pieces. The waitress Savannah was very friendly and explained very well. They had no menu, no wifi. However, when I took the food in a bag, I forgot it on the table. When I returned, they had already thrown it away, but the manager gave me a complete meal just as I had ordered, as good as new. I thought it was a very good gesture. The receptionist took us to our seats where it was a side table in a dark area away from the ambiance. We asked the receptionist if we could sit at a table and she replied we only have outside seating. This was a turn off since while being taken to our seats there were several empty clean tables. It took us speaking with a manager. The manager sat us at a table pretty quickly. Our waitress Ronika made us feel very welcome and was attentive to our needs. It's always a struggle to decide what to order because the specials are always tempting. However, once again, all three of us chose the Mardi Gras pasta. It is chock full of seafood and tasty Andouille sausages served over pasta with a creamy tomato sauce. Our friend had never had this entrée until last night. She has become a "believer".The true star of the show, however, was our server, Charles. I mistakenly misread his tag as trainee rather than trainer. I asked him how long he needed to be a trainee since his service was stellar from the start. He nicely explained that he was the trainer!Charles did everything several clicks better than the fine service we associate with this chain. He brought us the lemon we requested with our water the first time. This rarely happens. He offered straws and proceeded to open the top and then push the straw so we could take it out. I have never had this service offered anywhere, but it was really nice. Charles remained attentive throughout our dinner, but didn't hover or push items that we were not interested in. He is a real find for this restaurant. Professional, pleasant, and confident about what he does. A++“
