I would not recommend anyone to go to this restaurant. Service was not good. The food was the worst part and did not give me any reason to eat it again.

It was a okay experience. My thoughts on this place was just like everyones when you hear soul-food. But once I got there It was okay seating is kinda small and cramped. Food was okay, nothing special or to brag about. It also was a little pricey for what they were serving. They didn't have your traditional soul-food but over all If i would have to rate it I would say 5 out of 10.

Not sure what's going on with the hours of operation but, the website is showing business is open. Drove all the way from Saginaw, TX. Pulled in the VACANT parking lot just to see a small hand written note stating business will be closed until January 23rd. I visited the restaurant just before Christmas and the hostess told me and other customers they would be back in full operation on January 16th. Keep in mind if you decide to eat here and you don't have any issues burning your gas driving, you may want to call ahead and that's only if they answer the phone. Food quality is very good. I will give them that.Parking: Parking lot is only big enough for 3-4 cars max . very dangerous parking out on the curbside.

Very good food. The chicken fried steak was juicy and delicious. The mashed potatoes were very good. The staff were very good, however, it was apparent they were short staffed. Will definitely eat here again and highly recommend for others that want very yummy fried food.

I came here for lunch with a coworker. I was excited because I'm from Chicago i be searching for good soul food or good food period in Texas. Plus it was black-owned so I was ready to dive in. The place is old skool it gives the old southern vibes. It's a shack-style cafe/ restaurant. Once you walk in it has a very nostalgic ambiance. We waited at the front for a nice 5mins 1 waitress on the floor walked by but didn't care to greet us. She walked by twice no eye contact or anything. She was moving so fast you would think it was a packed house. Just a few tables no more than 5. She went by a window where I now know they take togo orders by a window on the outside. After tired of waiting I shouted ma'am do we sit ourselves? She walked past again and said something but I only heard what I needed (sit yourselves). So my coworker overly tried to convince me not to try the fried Catfish She said she got sick last time but it was a pickup order and her breading was falling off. I heard her but my mouth was watering for it. So I got it and it was cooked nice and fried hard but the taste was off it wasn't fresh. IT WAS NOT CATFISH SWAI FISH I HATE WHEN YOU ALL DO THAT. CHEAP! The mac n cheese was not MAC N N CHEESIN! The greens were good and tasty. Full of flavor I picked that old a** smoked meat out of it. My fried okra was good as well. The cornbread was sweet and tasty. I won't be back but I was trying something new! My advice is to take your time and don't sell bad fish or any meat for that matter all guests deserve to feel like the very 1st plate you've served when they originally opened.Parking: You have no choice but to back out if the parking lot into a street very weird set up.
