“We were driving through downtown Plano, looking for an adventure, and ready for anything to come our way .. when Mama Vicky's caught our eye. This tiny restaurant had impressive reviews, so we decided to try them. This was a new style of food for us, so we tried several items from their menu. We ordered a Cubana sandwich, chicken Sope, pork Pupas, and a beef taco. Be prepared to wait a hot minute because they make everything from scratch, order per order. Everything was fresh and delicious. Authentic mexican food. What made it exceptionally delicious for us was taking the lettuce, tomato, feta pieces that fell on our plate, and adding that to our beef taco. Oh yum! TIP: There are only 3 handicap parking spaces across the street, no crosswalks nearby, and this is a very busy street! All 3 handicap spots were full when we arrived, and they were full when we left. TIP: Parking is a beast! Be prepared to circle the downtown Plano area and walk a few blocks, especially during busy times. TIP: There are only 7 tables inside. Two tables hold 6+ people, and the rest are 4 tops. No outside seating.“
“First time to Casa Mia for an early lunch (11AM) and it definitely won’t be the last. Mom and I were eagerly anticipating what we were hoping to be a good experience, and it absolutely blew us away! This visit ticked all the boxes in terms of Food, Service, and Ambiance. It was truly exceptional. I can’t believe this place has been here for six years and we have lived across the highway all this time. Walking in, you immediately feel a sense of welcoming in an intimate, classy, high energy space. Wonderful first impression. This is a Family Business and one that you would be doing yourself a disservice for not stopping by.From the time we entered, we were immediately greeted and seated by John, the mixologist here. He and the chef in the back were truly the stars of the show. John introduced us to the establishment and spoke a bit about the history. Both excellent! Hot, Fresh, Cooked to Order, Tender, locked-in flavor, and complete bliss with each and every bite. I love places that don’t over season or oversalt their food, simply because 1.) it retracts from the experience and 2.) we don’t add salt to our food at home. The seasoning here was perfect! I wish more places were like this. The pickled cabbage, carrots, and sauce were the perfect accompaniments to the fried plantains, yuca, pupusa with cheese, and tamale wrapped in banana leaves. The Black Bean Dip and Rice was a nice touch as well. Portion sizes just right and that can be hit or miss on several establishments. “Food was good overall. Quality and prepared fresh. The plates were styrofoam which was a huge turn off. Number one you can't really cut into those and it's not like they don't have actual hard plates to serve food on cause they had half our order on them. Just odd. For $35 I would appreciate a real plate I don't cut INTO. Still the food was decent (I got pupusas) but not the best I've had (Vickie's was closed that day). My husband loved the burrito but they were out of lengua and tripas. Kind of a let down. Service was very good. The young lady and her mom run the show and they are very sweet. 5 stars for service. Ambiance isn't much to write home about. It's a hole in the wall vibe but I could care less if food and service are good. The downside to the place is the shared bathroom space with a gas station and chicken shack. No toilet paper, no soap, no paper towels and not the best kept. What the heck???? Next time I have to come here it'll be for take out honestly. I still give it 4 stars cause food and service is stellar when you take into account I wasn't the only one rating the food“

Shrimp was excellent but the steak ordered rare didn't seem up to par.Service was fast for both my orders. “Our family decided to try a new place for us. We thought this was a Mexican place, but it turned out up be Salvadoran. We all ordered something new and enjoyed the food. We found the music a little loud, but we were all sitting under a speaker. I loved the pupusas - a new dish for all of us.“

“We were in Frisco for a conference and we ate here three days in a row. I highly recommend the ceviche and the shrimp cocktail. We didn't even get entrees because the appetizers were so fantastic! Ernesto the bartender was very helpful and kind, as were all of the staff there. If I return to Frisco I will definitely be dining at Gloria's.“
