Sunday lunch visit with my brother, son and daughter in law was fantastic!!! We had fish and shrimp with greens and mac & cheese, oxtails rice & gravy with greens and mac & cheese and smothered pork chops rice & gravy with black eyed peas and fried okra. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious and more than generous portions. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Support this amazing local business! You’ll be glad you did!!!

I was referred to Ophelia’s by none other than Galveston’s own Bruh Man from da fifth floor! Pepper Junior is my new favorite person on this island!!! He should get an award for that fried chicken and the fried catfish. I cannot believe how delicious everything tasted fresh reasonable price. It was the vibe for me. The atmosphere of that place is not like no other. You can feel the history and really bring your soul to the table!

Stopped in on a whim after seeing the 5 star rating on Google. Ordered fried okra, meatloaf, and mac and cheese. The seasoning was right and everything was cooked well. I'm not a big fan of okra, but the fried okra here is now my favorite. I was surprised by how much I liked it. The food was great! And there was a lot of it! The owner, Peppa, was a great host. Told me about his time working in Antarctica, amazing pictures on the wall.

Apologies I’m late on my review.. I’m B.O.I ?️ and I went by a few weeks ago and chef talked up the junk burger in which I hadn’t had one in years and it was as advertised!!! A local treasure it is a diverse hearty, work of art!!! Please try it if you swang by I recommend u try one.! My wife got the fish plate and we’re still fighting over the way I dogged that as well! ??♂️ Sorry!!! Overall it was a great experience and awesome just to have some home cooking!!! I appreciate the hospitality I will definitely be back when i come home if the lord says the same!!! Good luck and God Bless!!!! ???✌?✊???️?

Awesome! Our food was sooo amazing and the staff was sooo friendly. Ophelia’s on Market St in Galveston was such a soulful experience that we will definitely dine there again and again.
The food was tasty, plentiful with Southern hospitality. Definitely will be returning soon. Drove from Houston to dine. Oh and can't believe the pricing. This a place to visit if you are ever in Galveston!!!!

Delicious food and friendly service. Don't miss this place, it is a true gem. I had the fish and shrimp platter which was delicious. The fish is super moist and well seasoned with a cornmeal crust. The ocra and tomato side is a must try.

Hands down, the best smothered pork chops I've ever had. Everything is seasoned to perfection and the sides were great. My wife said her fried catfish was fantastic and the okra was among the best she's ever had. We both raved about the Mac & cheese. We'll definitely be back!
