Great first experience! Got the Sampler Plate, cobbler of the day which was super peachy, and wow what a meal. Beans are a must with the meat pieces mixed in.A nice touch is the vinyl record player with a pretty decent collection. It wasn't playing when I walked in. Previously customer complained. But, with Foo Fighters queued up, I had to play as I waited.Long story short, damn good food. Proof, cats loved it too. Worth using your hands like a caveman.

A friend recommended Jimmy Vega's, went there for the first time and did a take out lunch. No complaints, not a one.The food was delicious, the staff was nice and the atmosphere in this 110+ year old house was quite interesting.I ordered the "oh, I don't know..." platter with Jimmy beans, crack corn and three slices of bread. Decided to try their spicy sauce and traditional sauce, lots of raw onion and loaded up on their homemade dill pickles. And for dessert, 'nana pudding.This meal was yummy, the meat cooked perfectly and we loved the authenticity of the tasty sides.It was enough for me and my two young grandsons. As like most families these days, finances are tough and tight. Jimmy Vega's was my households' once a month eating out "treat". Quite frankly, I spent almost $10 less at Jimmy Vegas than I have at a certain unnamed chain hamburger joint for the three of us.Again, no complaints, not a one.....Thank you Jimmy Vega's for making our "treat" a real treat and so DEEElicious!

We popped in here after some recommendations. The place is cool; an old house converted into a restaurant which had a lot of character. We sat on the patio and the waitress brought our food out. The barbecue looked fantastic and smelled delicious. Our party tried the ribs, sausages, brisket and I had chicken. Everyone enjoyed their food but I thought it was a tad on the salty side.

Nice place with competent brisket, will be back for more! Updated on subsequent visit: brisket was dry and uninspiring today although turkey and sides were good. Dropping a couple of stars because brisket is really important to get right.

Jimmy Vega's is a treasure. This was my first time and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. The service was amazing, the atmosphere is great and shouldn't be missed, but as with any good BBQ joint the main attraction was the brisket. Moist and very tasty, no dryness whatsoever. The sauce is sweet but not too much and they have a tad bit spicier one too. They're both excellent. All in all I would say this puts the other BBQ restaurants in the area on notice. Excellent experience.

Food was great, and the service was very friendly, helpful and quick. The furnishings are nothing to speak of, but the numerous pictures on the walls are enjoyable to browse and added to the atmosphere. This was my first visit, I recommend it and will return.
Brisket was moist & perfectly smoked. Best sides I’ve had at a BBQ place, great variety - I ordered the brisket plate which has two side, I choose German potato salad and smoked sauerkraut. I like all the sauces, but I liked spicy & the white bbq sauce. Make sure to try their homemade pickles.

Came here spur of the moment not knowing anything about this place. There were a lot of options, and the prices were fair. I didn't enjoy my chopped brisket sandwich, I feel like all I got was the burnt crust. The crack corn and Mac and cheese were good, as well as the ribs. I wouldn't come back only because there are so many other bbq places to choose from that are closer to me.
