“I've been wanting to come here for a while. So glad I finally decided to stop by. First, service is great. All the staff was very attentive and our food came out quickly and hot. We had the wings, spicy goat pizza, pork belly, fish and chips, and burger. Everything was delicious and the portions are very generous. The fish and chips are made with flounder and the batter was nice and crispy, not greasy at all. The wings were top notch. Very juicy and very well seasoned. These are sold be the pound and the pound is about 6 wings. The burger was very juicy and the fries were nice and crispy. The star of the show was the pizza. Goat cheese and the habanero glaze go together so well. The dough is top notch. Sourdough that is left to set for 72 hours. Dry and crunchy! The pork belly is very well done as well. Not too rich, nice and balanced. For dessert we had the bread pudding with ice cream. Very good as well. Lots of creative drinks as well. “We've been wanting to try this place out since moving to the area and driving by 1000 times. I was driving home from work very late one night and their kitchen was surprisingly open late! Called in a to-go order, everything was super easy and ready quickly. Food was 10/10 and we will definitely be coming back.“
“Hughie’s has been one of our favorite neighborhood places to eat since they first opened. The food and service is consistently top notch and speedy to boot. The last time we visited there was a mixup and we paid another tables tab which doubled our bill. I didn’t catch it as we were in a hurry to get the kids home and to bed. When I realized what had happened, I went back up there expecting to have to explain myself. They had already realized the mistake and corrected our bill. The manager and our server were also apologetic for something that honestly was as much my fault for not catching as it was there’s. So add integrity to the list of great attributes to this place! If I had any suggestions it would be for them to add more non alcoholic options to their excellent beer selections for those that don’t or can’t drink. Other than that, I’ve got nothing!Parking: Parking can be a bit tight at their busiest times but we are always able to find a spot.Kid-friendliness: We bring our kids here often as they have good, inexpensive options for them and are very kid friendly.“

Our waitress was good and quickly brought another, although it was way too salty. We also got the breakfast sandwich and avocado toast which were good. “The schnitzel and spaetzle are DELICIOUS here. Consistently good. The owner was also very accommodating also about us bringing a pup we are babysitting out onto the patio on our most recent visit. We are new to the area and delighted to discover a great local business.Update 4 years later: still delicious. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of the food here. Tried the weisswurst this evening. Packed with flavor on a crisp fresh bun. The dill spätzle is still my favorite. It's an unassuming spot, this place, but give it a shot.“
“My partner is in a wheelchair and when we arrived, someone had parked in a space that blocked off access to the ramp.My partner and I know the world wasn't built for people with disabilities, there's a general lack of care or consideration. We - like everyone else - learn to take the every day difficulties on the chin, and save our energy for the big battles. We don't get to just go to a restaurant without research and consideration.That's the mindset we brought to Holman, and when the ramp was blocked we didn't make a fuss and were getting ready to leave when a bartender saw us and got his team working on it. A group of 4 bartenders/maybe the manager kept going to everyone in the restaurant and asking whose car it was, trying like heck to get us in. They ended up figuring it out and we got inside, after which the manager comped our entire meal and drinks. When I insisted on paying the bartender turned me down and said it was nothing.The world wasn't built with disabilities in mind... But people, man they make living so much fun. Thank you to each and every individual at Holman for making a great evening for my partner and I. Good food is easy to find in this city but good people will keep us coming back time and again. “Super chill place with bar vibes and restaurant quality food which totally surprised me. They had really good deals on food and alcohol combos. They also have a nice 6ft pool table which is a huge plus. The staff are very friendly as well. I will continue going back.“
“Is a great place to go. We have been here pretty much everytime we go to downtown, or to a Astros game. Service and atmosphere varies time to time. Is a great place to try all kinds of drafts beers. It closes at 12am. So I recommend to start there.“

“This is my second time dining at Birdies Resturant. My first visit was New Years Day for Brunch. I loved the omelet that was made for me at the speciality station. The food selections on the Brunch Buffett was just what my taste buds had in mind. On Saturday, Jan 27, I had the pleasure of Laura being my server. She was amazing. She was very personable. My friend and I were very grateful she was our waitress. Her short conversation with us was nothing more than delightful. She is an asset to your Resturant.“
