I went to this restaurant for the first time I order bake potato with dry beef on the side. When I got home I had beef with sauce called back the lady was very rude and said I should have check my food the person that toke my order didn't speak English the lady refuse to give me her name when I ask for management. I work and was on lunch and I couldn't go back right then she said I should have check it before I left. I will never go back again.

We have been eating at Hickory Barn for 40+ years, mostly to go orders. Today I got a sliced beef plate with okra and potato salad, they have always had the best sides. The brisket was lean, but had no seasoning on it. I mean none. The other edge of the brisket had no bark/crust that usually consists of seasoning and the outer crust of the meat. Strange, I have never had brisket that did not have any seasoned bark in the outside. The brisket had no flavor at all. The okra was under cooked. Thank heavens the potato salad hasn’t changed…..yet. Won’t spend $35 for this again.

This place was good before, nowadays the portions of meat are smaller and the prices are higher especially in the portion of sausage that I always ordered today they charged me almost $9 dollars for this small amount and when I paid I was surprised by how much? What the girl charged me and I had to ask her what she was buying me? I thought he was wrong and in a bad mood he replied that it was $13 dlls. for the basket ribs and almost $9 dlls for a few slices of sausage

Food is always good.Service today sucked. I guess because of game and big orders. I waited about 10 mins for someone to even speak to me .. I don't where y'all got these employees from.
My visit today was extremely disappointimg. I ordered 1lb of brisket which turned out to be the worst "barbecue" I've ever had in my life. There's no way it was smoked. Heck it almost tasted boiled then baked without even a pinch of salt. The sauce didn't help either just thin and watery mess. AWFUL. Completely Awful. I damn near wanted to drive back up there and just give it back, no refund or anything just please stop serving that terrible excuse for BBQ. Especially in TEXAS. Y'all must have some nice friends leaving reviews and it's not cool. The food is terrible. I'm upset I wasted my money and my time!

Started shirt cuts. Use to get a 3 ribs on a meat plate with brisket ,now get two and the brisket is getting a lil smaller Too. Great Food, but try and undercut the patron who has been getting the same thing every time I come! Please don't do you customers like that!

I'm not sure how this place received a 4.2. This place is horrible. Maybe we came in too late but the service was horrible, did not feel welcomed. The food was cold, I asked for french fries, the fries were not cooked and they were cold. Pulled pork sandwich was cold and no flavor. My kids ordered chicken and yes, it was cold. I would not recommend if you know good BBQ.
