My mom and I have been eating Jeannie's Cakes since 2005. Mom's favorite is the original because it is sweetened with pineapple juice not sugar. She's always bragging about the flavor, how moist and fresh it tastes as well. While I agree, my two must haves are the red velvet, and the pineapple. Both are OMG good!!!!! They are moist and fresh as well, and the flavors pop, too. Owner, Steven, says he bakes all of his Grandma's (Jeannie) recipes from scratch. I can tell.
Came to Houston / The Galleria for first time and got offered a sample of The Original cake as me and my sister walked by. Sooo good! I had to buy. My sister got the Oreo one and was hooked. We'll definitely be back next trip!

My sister and I stopped by Jeannie's Cakes after being offered a sample from the owner. He was so engaging and shared a heartfelt story about the namesake, Grandmother Jeannie. You can tell that he loves what he does and it certainly shows through his hospitality and delicious desserts. I recommend anyone stop by, you're in for a treat!
