Such good bbq! The line is worth the wait. We first attempted eating here on a Friday night and they had closed early because they were already out of food - this was a sign that we NEEDED to try again, so we came Sunday for a late lunch. I recommend the glazed ribs and brisket.

Brisket is excellent. Dry rub pork ribs are good, but not great. Jalapeno sausage is nothing special, but not bad and could be spicier. The brisket is very very good though. They were out of beef ribs and I didn't try anything else.

The people that work there act like questions are a problem. But the food is a blessing from the gods...lol!! Rude folks don't stop my appetite like some folks I come to eat not make friends.

You better be hungry! It's easy to really load up the tray with meat. If you're local and have a fridge for leftovers, perfect. If you're passing through town, it can be a bit of a dining ultramarathon. Ordering can be a bit confusing your first time. Seating is beer garden-style: long tables. That works here.Parking: Onsite parking is a bit slim, but there's enough street parking to get the job done.

We are from out of state and wanted to try some true Texas BBQ. We ordered 2 beef ribs, 2 lb of brisket (4 slices), a 1/4 rack of pork ribs, 1 order of coleslaw, and two sodas. The total with a 15% tip was $150 dollars. I know this is great bbq but for me this was a bit steap of a price considering we are holding a sheet pan of food, served cafeteria style, using plastic utensils and paper towels, disposing of our own things. Despite the bill the meats were falling off the bone, juicy and tender as ever. The smoke rings were perfect and we got there at just the right time, 5 minutes before opening. I wish I had a touch of salt on the table to bring out a little bit more of the beefy flavor, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The coleslaw was fresh, however, slightly under seasoned, but we were happy to have it between bites. The bbq sauce is decent with tomato and sweet notes, it was nice because it did not overpower the beef flavor in any way. A preference for a certain kind of BBQ over another, like for any food, is a very subjective experience; how much spice, peppers, garlic, and sodium one uses overtime will affect one’s palette and preferences. I personally like bold, salty, spicy, acidic and bitter tastes, I like it when the aromas of food are intense and every bite is a flavor bomb. I did not necessarily experience this here but I still appreciate the craft of BBQ and the purity of the meat and technique. Since our stay in Texas is short, we where glad to support a local establishment and get an experience of true Texas bbq in Houston.A bit more on pricing:I understand that the meat is Halal and that beef in a place like Houston is subject to large price increases. I also know that working in a restaurant setting is some of the most demanding work for the lowest wages, zero breaks and no benefits. Hopefully everyone working around the clock here earns a living wage and that this factors into the prices we paid.

Great BBQ! There were about 12 of us that came out. We liked the way the ordering process was done at the counter, then go find a table. That part could get very busy on weekends but it was faster than table side service for our big group. Everything we had was fantastic. Picked up their BBQ sauces and seasoning to take back to Alaska as well. Highly recommend!

We came here for a family celebration. Born and raised in Houston, I've had my share of amazing to okay bbq so naturally I like to try all the "top" rated BBQ places. .We arrived around 1130 on a Sunday. The wait wasn't terrible, maybe 15-20min. We rolled 15 deep so of course we placed a massive order. We ordered all the sides; chopped brisket sandwiches, brisket, turkey, for the kids, ribs dry and candied. You get the idea. The ribs were GREAT! The candied ribs were by far my favorite! The beans, potato salad, and slaw well someone was just heavy hamded on the salt. I get it, salt can sometime enhance the flavot but when my wedding ring starts to get tight on my finger bc of the amount salt in bo time flat, tikes If they could just lay off the salt mine, the potato salad would be spot on. The brisket was melt in your mouth cooked but it could have definitely used more seasoning the turkey was turkey and the rice cheese w/ jalapeño was literally cheese with jalapeño with a dash of rice. The texture reminded of cauliflower rice. Overall the family enjoyed their meal but I'll stick to my Triple J"s, Unfortunately Pinkerton won't ever come close to the Ol School Burns BBQ. Does that magic still exist in Houston? The search continues.

Mid brisket. Doesn't pass the pull test particularly well. Why smoke chicken thighs if they're boneless/skinless? Completely defeats the point of smoked chicken, in my opinion. It isn't a crazy sweet/wet coleslaw, which I liked a lot personally. My girl got a fountain drink, and the Dr. Pepper seemed like it was mostly soda water? I don't really consume much sugar anymore, so I was surprised how watered down it tasted to me.It was very fairly priced for the reputation, if only it lived up to the reputation.
