The food was exceptional, Here are some highlights:*Flavorful Sushi and Sashimi: The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and had authentic Japanese flavors.*Intimate Atmosphere: Sasaki is a cozy little gem tucked away on Westheimer Road. The intimate ambiance adds to the overall experience. It’s perfect for a quiet dinner or a special occasion.*Attentive Service: The staff at Sasaki went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. This is the perfect “hole-in-the-wall”, “bang-for-your-buck”, the quality ingredients and sublime technique that Toda-san employs, with every dish he lays hands on, are an essential experience here in Houston, if not the entire state and possibly the country. Having never been to Japan, I wish I could empirically say that it IS a slice of Japan here in the USA but I must say it FEELS like a portal into a different time and place, if not Japan. When you go, settle in and be kind and patient. The staff will appreciate your understanding and respond in kind. But honestly, this place has THE best sushi rice/sashimi/nigiri/chirashi I have EVER had. This place is the final word on an affordable, transformational, sushi experience. Best dish, in my opinion, is the chirashi bowl. A or B; it doesn’t matter. Order your favorite nigiri or sashimi and you’ll be delighted by the way it’s cut and feels as you eat it. For an extra special experience, go for the omakase. TRY IT!

We, two families with a son and a daughter, enjoyed authentic Japanese foods, sushi, sashimi, and other appetizers. The price is reasonable compared to others, considering the quality of the food. Master chef Toda cooked excellent sushi and sashimi we never experienced before. The restaurant entrance looked old and humble, but there were genuinely tasteful Japanese foods. It seems like a hidden treasure island to me! We will come back again.
