“I grew up in SouthEast Asia and it is very difficult to find an authentic SE Asian food in the US. That is why I was so happy to find out that Uncle Chin's Kitchen offers authentic Malaysian/Singaporean food. All the food we tried were super delish. We (my husband and I) tried the satay, which, hands down the best satay I have tasted in many years since I live in the US. The peanut sauce is so tasty, you can't get enough of it. We also tried their nasi lemak, fried fish with sambal, and their most popular dish Char Kuey Teow. They are so delicious, I am drooling now just thinking about them. The staff are also great, very friendly and knowledgeable about the food they offers. The only thing I dislike is the fact that they are in Houston/Katy and not in Dallas where I live so I can not eat their food as often as I would love to. So Houstonians, rejoice, count your blessing and go visit Uncle Chin's Kitchen :)”

“Layne's is really great. I'll be honest it took me a long time to come around because I really like Raising Cane's, but over time I came to understand what makes Layne's unique and worth it.
I had only been to their storefronts in College Station before I went to this one in Houston, and I'm happy to say this location was really great! It was clean and the food was just as good as what I had in College Station. For me, the standouts at Layne's are their ranch and their "Layne's Sauce." Their ranch is amongst the best I've EVER had and it pairs so well with the chicken and fries. What I like so much about the Layne's Sauce is how overwhelmingly peppery it is. But I say this in a good way—it's a flavor I've come to love from them. The toast and fries have also always been fantastic!
For me, it's really been those sauces that keep me coming back because it makes them unique versus Cane's and the like. But don't get mistaken, everything overall is great at Layne's and they are definitely worth a stop!

Very authentic Filipino food. We shared a bunch of dishes at our table and every dish was insanely good. Even the garlic rice was beyond my expectations. I wanted to keep eating and not stop. The service was great as well. The waiter was very attentive, water was always full, and had very good recommendations on food. Atmosphere also felt very fancy!
The only downside is the checkout process. They use an electronic Square device, but instead of handing it to you, they hold it while you reach the tip section, which can feel a bit pressuring. If they left the device with you so you could complete the payment at your own pace, this place would be perfect.
Please eat here, it’s definitely worth it if you remotely like Filipino food. :)

Solid flavor on the wings and the two sauces that came with compliments them pretty well. The chicken kabobs were probably the juiciest I've ever seen, marinade lightly but just enough for me to want to go back and get some more. The two owners were very nice and hospitable. They offered us complimentary hot tea after our meal and I love me some tea! Located in a food truck park right behind Fusion Grill on Mason. There was probably 10 other trucks there but only a few open on Monday. Go get you some!”

“Decided to try some seafood while visiting the shops. This place caught my eye and I am glad I visited. First and foremost the customer service was great. We informed them that it was our first time visiting and they gave us samples of their soups. The bisque is so creamy and buttery. The sampler appetizer was great. My boys had the fish and chips which was made with a wonderful white fish that was firm enough for a good bite and it did not fall apart. My wife and I split the special stuffed salmon and we were decently pleased with the dish. If I am in the area I would definitely recommend a visit. I cannot wait to try the other restaurants around as well as this is a cool shopping center to visit with wonderful places to eat. Make this place a stop while you visit and you will not be disappointed. Oh and if you like a good old fashion you will enjoy a very good one here.”

My friend stayed recommending this place and I finally joined her!!! I’m glad that I did! I got their seafood tower, a Mexican coke, and the shrimp tacos. The seafood tower was delicious!!! It had tons of seafood especially octopus!!! Everything tasted very fresh and clean !!! (Nothing smelled fishy). They offer large variety of different dishes and a small selection of drinks (no alcohol. If you are into Micheladas they offer the mix and you BYOB (bring yo own beer). “I recently had an early dinner at Turmeric Indian Restaurant around 6:00-6:30 PM on a weekend, and unfortunately, the experience was a bit underwhelming. The restaurant was fairly empty, with only about three or four tables occupied, but there was just one server attending to all of them. She seemed rushed and wasn’t able to give us much attention, which made the overall experience feel a bit hurried and impersonal.
As for the food, it was okay, but I didn’t find it to live up to the great things I’ve heard about this place. The flavors were average, and while we took home leftovers, no one really ended up eating them. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t stand out either.
Overall, I may not visit again, but I think it’s worth trying at least once, especially if you’re curious. Hopefully, the experience is better on a busier night with more staff on hand.”

Despite the heads up, she did fairly well. She informed us they were making fresh tea so there was a wait on that, but while waiting she did ring in our appetizers. We ordered the Texas brisket queso. Very delicious!! Only downfall was the chips. They brake so easily >.< Shortly after our entrees come out. We ordered the parmesan crusted chicken with half-rack baby back ribs with cheese broccoli and parmesan crusted chicken with rice and a baked potato. The chicken was so freaking good! I’m talking about JUICY! Now the baby back ribs they were wiped clean to the bone so I presume it was good. We both enjoyed our meals. In between Riley did check on us in a fairly manner. Refills were brought without us asking. Pre-bussed throughout which I loved cause I work in the restaurant industry and out of habit I do organize to clean up and move things to be taken as I like plenty of room and a clean space. At the end Riley asked if we wanted any dessert which we saved room and ordered the molten lava cake. It was ok. Definitely moist but wish it had more of that fudge in the middle.
Riley was very sweet and nice, she kept her attitude cool even though she was swamped.
Our bill was $80 with 4 entrees ( 2 kids plates, and 2 adult plates ), 1 appetizer, and 1 dessert. We tipped 30% for being so attentive despite being swamped. Hopefully that made her night after a short staff shift ( not her fault but she did give us the heads up in case ). I rather that then wonder whats going on and why this and why that. Really big on pre bussing and refills!! A++ <3”

That is why I was so happy to find out that Uncle Chin's Kitchen offers authentic Malaysian/Singaporean food. All the food we tried were super delish. We (my husband and I) tried the satay, which, hands down the best satay I have tasted in many years since I live in the US. The peanut sauce is so tasty, you can't get enough of it. We also tried their nasi lemak, fried fish with sambal, and their most popular dish Char Kuey Teow. They are so delicious, I am drooling now just thinking about them. The staff are also great, very friendly and knowledgeable about the food they offers. The only thing I dislike is the fact that they are in Houston/Katy and not in Dallas where I live so I can not eat their food as often as I would love to. So Houstonians, rejoice, count your blessing and go visit Uncle Chin's Kitchen :)”
