Maika’i Hawaiian BBQ Reviews
So this was mine and my wife’s first time here at Maika’i Hawaiian BBQ and it was the worst experience ever.

Maika’i Hawaiian BBQ offers flavorful dishes like Kahlua pork over cabbage with rice and macaroni salad. Customers enjoy the spam musubi, although some found the seaweed wrap tough. The portions are large, and the service is friendly. The dining room is clean, bright, and cheerful, decorated with a large beach mural. Many diners appreciate the tasty food, quick and courteous service, and a safe, kid-friendly environment with bright colors and lighting. The menu is not extensive but includes well-prepared options like chicken katsu, which is moist and tender, and rice cooked perfectly. Recent reviews highlight the food’s freshness, flavor, and comforting quality, with generous portions and tender meat. The staff is described as friendly and welcoming, enhancing the experience. Customers have enjoyed the bbq mix, noting that everything was hot, fresh, and good, with macaroni salad being particularly tasty. Some mention that the chicken could benefit from less ginger and a touch of sweetness, but overall, the food is praised. The restaurant has a casual vibe, making it a good spot for a quick bite or family dining. Diners also appreciate the quick service and the friendly atmosphere. However, some express concern about the use of single-use plastics and foam, even for dine-in orders. Overall, Maika’i Hawaiian BBQ is a recommended choice for those seeking flavorful Hawaiian food in a friendly setting.
