I have had better hispanic food in Northern states (sad to say) This is supposed Latin? Tex/Mex??? The food was barely seasoned! I ordered two different meals and both were just plain. I didn’t even eat either meals. Their “salsa” looked like green food coloring and did not taste like any salsa I have ever had. The drinks were also terrible. I ended up just ordering a bottled beer after trying 4 different mixed drinks, which tasted like watered down soda… yikes! I don’t mind paying for quality, so in my opinion this is overpriced. I DO NOT recommend unless you just like the ambiance which was cute.

Amazing! Service was spot on, and everything on the menu is terrific! The atmosphere is a perfect decor for a local Laredo restaurant with antler inspired chandeliers. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a good restaurant! ?

This is one of my favorite Laredo eateries. The best fish and chips hands down. Whether you choose to dine inside or out on the patio, the service and food never disappoint. If you like good food, drink, and atmosphere, El Capataz has to be on your list of go-to's.

We ordered corn as an appetizer, cut in half. The waitress told us that because the presentation has to be like that and because in tavernilla who knows what. 1st we are not in a tavern. 2nd. I'm going to eat the corn, not put it in the bin. It's snack bosses. snacks and appetizers are SHARED. A whole corn for one person as a boot is not ideal. He told us that he brought us a knife, I told him, but here it comes on a stick or how am I going to stop it and cut it, I'm going to get dirty. He claims that I'm not going to get it dirty, that I should just cut it. We ended up ordering it, however it came with the entire blade burned, despite the burned fingers and cheese stains and knife slips we were able to cut it. We didn't ask for substitutions or difficult requests, we just wanted it to be cut. After the first contact and that we ordered, it no longer appeared at the table for the rest of our visit. Only the kids who bring the food and we had to ask someone else for refils. It had a good atmosphere but with this service I'd better take my money to the Republic.

Favorite dinner spot in Laredo. I'm halfway through the menu and everything l've had has been on point! The gentleman behind the bar not only knows his drinks but can easily advise someone who is unsure of their appetite. I hold a pretty high bar when it comes to dining out, and it’s not very often that I find a place like this that meets and exceeds my standards. Whoever is running this place knows exactly what they're doing and it's much appreciated. The ambiance gives you a fancy dining experience while still feeling like a relaxed social environment. The entire staff is impeccable. I can't wait for my next dish as I venture through the menu. Thanks again!
