“I’m always chasing a good Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Every new spot I hear about, I’m there. I’ve tried a lot of places and most of them are just okay. Spotted This Bird’s Cooked at Deacon Baldy’s and figured I’d give it a shot. The owner was out there and was super friendly. She took the time to walk me through the different heat levels and actually explained what gets added as you step up. That kind of thing goes a long way. You can tell she genuinely cares about the food and the experience. Got the tacos topped with slaw and wow. So much flavor packed into every bite. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the spice was on point. Not too much, not too little, just right. The slaw on top pulled it all together and gave it that little bit of crunch and coolness that balanced everything out. This one genuinely surprised me. It’s hard to find a place that actually nails it and these guys did. Wish I had found them a long time ago. If you see this truck out there, do yourself a favor and stop. You won’t regret it.“

“Our family is visiting from Dallas for a baseball tournament and we stopped in because the food was recommended by some friends! The food was FANTASTIC and the atmosphere was amazing. Chili Cheese Fries were incredible and the Burgers are the best around! Besides that, the Assistant Manager (Luke) was so awesome to us. Our 4 year old asked for a Kids Menu to Color and Draw, they didn’t have any up at the front. He went out of his way to go to the Store across the street and buy them with his own money to bring to us. This was something that made our kid so excited and the hospitality was the best we’ve had on our trip. “I ordered the chicken fried steak, and as someone who really loves CFS, I was disappointed. While the portion size was generous, the steak itself seemed to have been fried against the bottom of the pan, or set for a period of time on parchment to seal a thick, flat sheet of crust that was greasy rather than crispy. I had to add a lot of pepper just to get some flavor. The mashed potatoes were also bland. I will not be ordering anything that is fried on their menu. On the positive side, the wedge salad was amazing, and the bread pudding reminded me of New Orleans — absolutely delicious. The bread service was inconsistent: the first round was dry and stale, but the second round was hot and fresh, which made me feel like the initial serving had simply been sitting out. If it hadn’t been for the salad and dessert, I would have spoken up about the meal. I was also disappointed to see cardboard boxes stacked in a way that hid the distillery from my view. That said, the service was truly amazing, and the staff were the highlight of the experience.“

“ive always loved the drive in and have been going since it first opened. I havent gone in a few years but recently I was able to go and plan on going more often again like I used to. the only downside this last time was going to get a funnel cake during the intermission and they said the kitchen was closed. I was really bummed about that. I used to love getting a meal and a dr pepper and funnel cake and popcorn and all the goodies in between the movies. but I can always bring something with me next time. no biggie. I still recommend going and will continue to go myself.“

“Came in for dinner we were not greeted when we came in young lady with glasses took our order and we asked for fresh fries and she rolled her eyes at us I’m a manager and I would not treat my customers like that. We felt very disrespectful.“
