The beef teriyaki rice bowl was absolutely delicious! The beef was tender and flavorful, perfectly coated in a rich, savory teriyaki sauce. The rice was fluffy and complemented the dish so well, and the veggies added a fresh balance. Portion size was generous, and every bite tasted freshly made. Definitely a meal I’ll be coming back for again and again!“

The young lady with the facial piercings needs a bit of customer service training her expressions showed as though she was dreading her job! Therefore took away one star. The atmosphere of the dining room is nice and it was very clean!“

“Yanagi Ramen is a solid addition to the area and a place I’d definitely return to. While it wasn’t the most mind-blowing ramen I’ve ever had, it was genuinely good—especially for the location—and clearly hits the spot when you’re craving something warm and comforting. I really appreciated the variety of vegetarian options, which felt thoughtfully done rather than like an afterthought. My bowl was flavorful and well-balanced, though worth noting: even after asking for heat, it wasn’t spicy at all, so spice lovers may want to temper expectations.

That said, the experience had a bit of a rough start. We arrived right at the posted opening time (11am) and ended up waiting outside in the freezing cold, unsure if they were actually open. We had to call to confirm, and only then did someone come to unlock the door. Once inside, I asked for hot tea—pretty standard at most Japanese spots—only to be told they were completely out, which was surprising.

All things considered, Yanagi Ramen delivers a dependable bowl with good vegetarian choices and a clean, modern space. A few opening-hour kinks and missing basics kept it from being great, but the food itself was enjoyable, and I’d happily come back—just not for spice, and hopefully next time with hot tea ready to go.“

“We just moved here and this was our very first meal in Lubbock. It was everything we could have hoped for. The puffs are great, the clams are big (not just a lump of breading like some) and the shrimp were fantastic. The chocolate pecan pie is not sickening sweet and I love the pineapple cream soda. The staff was so helpful and prompt. Thank you for a great welcome meal.“

“This was our first time to dine in. I usually go through the drive through for the shrimp cocktail. This time we decided to go inside.
The atmosphere was homey with music on the TV. Our waitress was very prompt in bringing our chips and salsa along with taking our drink orders. Breakfast is served all day so hubby got the chorizo and eggs. Cooke perfectly to his liking. I had the chili relleno, taco and enchilada. Quite tasty. The portions were more than ample, hot and very good. We will definitely be going back again.“

Nice setting - the background music was pleasant (not overwhelming as some other places, lots of TV’s around… I’ll be back! Oh, and Brenda was fantastic as my server; very attentive AND helpful. “First time trying El Malecon for dinner last night and it was delicious. The atmosphere is very clean and beautifully done. So many food and drink options to choose from. We started with the shrimp mango ceviche which was a huge portion. I had the fish, scallop, shrimp fajitas and they were so good. We look forward to eating here again!“

“Oooomyyygoooodness!! We’re from Odessa, we came to Lubbock to spend the weekend for our 30th anniversary. We went round and round in where we could eat. I’m telling you, this was AMAZING! I had the birria tacos, my wife had the carne asada fries. I’m SOOO glad we came here. Keep up the good work! Would DEFINITELY recommend this place!“
