Great food great staff have never waited very long on food , always hot & fresh , good portions , fair prices have tried Mexican food & American food both great .

Was at the State Park Visiting family today and as we left we were hungry so got on the innerwebs and found this place, so we decided to take a chance. I’m glad we did. We walked in and got a table, the waitress greeted us and took our drink order. As soon as we got our drinks we ordered. She had the chicken fried steak which is hand breaded and I had the enchiladas which tasted freshly made. I’ll tell you what, this is some of the tastiest food I’ve had in a while. I’m glad we took a chance on this place and definitely will recommend it to anyone who asks! Good service and friendly people. Thanks to the staff for a great meal tonight!
Will not set foot in this place on Sunday ever again.

Food is OK and very pricey for what you get. Service is bad most days. Don’t get the fajita salads. Very soupy and terrible. Pie is coconut cream and that’s about it. You get a partial slice at best. For Lyons, it OK but better can be found for a short drive to Somerville or College Station.

This is not just a mediocre cafe on a country highway serving a standard bacon and eggs/pancakes breakfast and a forlorn hamburger with limp fries for lunch.Neinist is a true treasure because the quality of the food is superb, absolutely superb, fresh, bountiful and well prepared. The menu is broad as would be unexpected. The daily lunch buffet is a gastronomical treat even though the offerings are standard — fried chicken (right out of the fryer) and various other well prepared and tasty dishes.The breakfast menu is an aggregation of wonderfully prepared standard fare and traditional Mexican dishes, too numerous to mention here. Check out the menu.All I can say is that Neinest is spectacular if what you were expecting is a standard country café.I have spoken to the owners to inquire how they can possibly put out such fresh in bountiful meals, out in the country. I was told that it is a family business and family members work hard to make this a distinguished eating place and do everything possible to provide a great experience. They are the sweetest people.I am so pleased to be able to write this review as there are far too few places to eat that provide this quality of meal, let alone, out in the country. We are blessed to live close enough to visit often. Anybody passing through would be well-advised to drop by.

Buffet was good I didn't care for the enchiladas, but the beef tips and fish nuggets were delicious

I ordered nachos which came with a very good amount of chicken, beans, pico, cheese, etc. It was delicious and a lot of food. Couldn't finish it so I took leftovers with me. My friend ordered a burger and fries. She said it was good. She asked for water but she was given sweet tea and water never came. They seemed to be short staffed as we waited a bit upon arrival. Once we got our food we didn't see the waitress again. It's a fairly large place with plenty of seating. They serve buffet and menu items. We went with the menu items. Coffee was good. The waitress did tell us that food would take a while as meats are freshly cooked not precooked. We were fine with that. Reasonable prices. We were able to park in front, so parking at lunchtime may be an issue.

Service is not good, its really hot in the back room and although this is a Mexican Food restaurant BEWARE even if you order Mexican Food they charge you for each basket of chips and salsa, without warning!! Third time eating here and probably my last, food is just not that good and it's pricey.
