Incredible. Stopped by after a baseball tournament here in Marshall. Had a rough loss. The chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and corn bread were sensational. Water was cold and tasted great.The fried pickles were by far and away the best I ever had. They let that pickle shine instead of drowning it in batter. Very sour and pickley.Very church like setting but I did come on a Sunday and it was a little hot inside but that does little to subtract from this being the best soul food I've had. If you're on the fence, or thinking about, do yourself a favor and go. Plus my entire meal was about 12.50.Sensational.
I came here with my son and his family for an early dinner April 4th. The food was so good! I live in Colorado and crave good southern food; there's not any available here. Elisha's made my tummy and heart smile and look forward to my next visit.

I ordered fried catfish fillet (soft fried); to go. This was my first visit. I certainly will return. The price was fair. I liked that the fish was not over seasoned or over cooked. My sides were mac & cheese and mixed greens. Both were a bit heavy on the salt but otherwise good. The hot water cornbread was very good. The restaurant is a calm environment. The best way to find the location is google maps directions.The fried fish did not disappoint. Compliments to the chef. Oh, and let me remember to mention the attention to detail in keeping the fish and cornbread dry and separate from the greens and mac & cheese when it was packed "to go".Kid-friendliness: This is a "kid-friendly" place if you bring kids who have been trained how to behave in a sit-down restaurant.

A bucket list must!!Top to bottom, Elisha's is absolutely legendary. The food, the service, the portions, the atmosphere, the music, the friendly smiles.Unfortunately, the review caps out at 5 stars, or else I'd rate everyone on staff at Elisha's 10 stars all day long.Just for reference, I've traveled for work for well over a decade and have found countless wonderful gem restaurants such as this in all corners of the country. Elisha's is by far a standout establishment among the best of the best of the best. I'm talking '87 Jordan kind of standout good. Just flat out jaw dropping incredible.

2nd time back. Ordered fried pork chop, Mac & cheese, black eye peas and cornbread. Was good. Pork chop still had bone in it so tough to eat because of the breading, you couldn't see where to cut or bite into the meat. Could have used a gravy/sauce with it but came dry. Sides were great. Waa looking forward to banana pudding since was on website but they didn't have any. I was only guest in the restaurant. Service was friendly. Ordered a side of hot water cornbread to go and got a single serving so miscommunication there, so no biggie but it was still excellent.Parking: Free parking but very small lot with like 8 spots and then you park on the street on a narrow street.
