We go to Blake's for lunch frequently. My husband enjoys their blackened fish and I really like the chopped steak. The fried squash is delicious.

If I could give a negative star I would. Went here for an early dinner, about 5:15. We were seated immediately as there were only 2 other tables in the entire place. Got our drinks quickly too. Then, they completely forgot about us. After about 15 minutes, while we watched several more tables get seated, we asked another waitress to let our's know we were ready to order. After another 10 more minutes, nothing. More tables were seated and we watched them place their food orders. Finally a waitress showed up and tried to act like nothing happened and she was rushing. When my husband said how about an apology?, she was very rude and NOT sincere in her half ass "sorry 'bout that". We just said forget and got up to leave. She very loudly shouts very sarcastically FINE! HAVE A NICE DAY!! Literally the entire restaurant looked up! When we got to the hostess, we asked for the manager and was told there wasn't one. And again she yelled at us to have a nice day. Completely sarcastic! So the service sucked to say the least! And while we were waiting all that time, I had a good look around the restaurant and honestly wasn't sure I wanted to eat there anyways. It's filthy!! The dust bunnies on the walls and what looks like garage sale decorations were all covered in dust and dirt. I was thinking if the restaurant is this dirty where I can see, what must it look like where I can't see!! We won't be back.

Stopped in here by chance and was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the food was. Their ranch is delicious and the surprise of gravy with fried mushrooms did not disappoint.

We have visited Blake’s Cafe in McQueeney a few times now, and it’s been good every time. I’ve had the Chicken Fried Steak a couple of times and my wife got the Hamburger Steak.Chicken Fried Steak Plate 8/10 - probably on my top 5 all time CFS. Large and thick cut battered and fried to a golden crunch. Lots of flavor and very hearty. The meat is thicker which I like. Damn good! I also had the Mashed Potatoes and Onion Rings. Both were very good.Hamburger Steak 5/10 - she ordered it with sautéed onions and brown gravy. She also had the Sweet Potato Fries. She said the Steak lacked flavor though.Service 9/10 - the service was fantastic!! Never let the drinks run out!!Atmosphere 7/10 - it’s an older restaurant and gives a comfortable vibe.Overall 8/10 - definitely give these guys a try!!
Great at home feel with good comfort food. Definitely worth the money. Nothing that was fried was overly greasy and seasoned perfectly.

Elizabeth was our friendly waitress. The parking lot was so full, we almost left. Plenty of room to eat inside. I ordered the grilled chicken n shrimp. They were very small n shrimp was a little too lemon peppery. Mac n cheese was good, green beans OK. My husband had the sirloin n it was seasoned well. The tea was delicious, but I think it just didn't set well in our stomachs. We love Blake's, but will try something new next time. They used to have catch of the day, but I'm saddened that they don't anymore.Parking: They have two areas to park and we were happy to find one last place to park as we were about to drive off.Wheelchair accessibility: You probably won't find a handicap parking place, but restaurant does have ramps to get inside.

Stopped in for Tuesday dinner. They were not busy, so we were seated/served right away. I got the pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries. Both were excellent. My wife got the Buffalo chicken salad. It was good but could have used more cheese and tomatoes (only two). The staff are super friendly and food is pretty great/reasonable too. We will return.

Food was good. Had large fried catfish. Glad I got large only had 4 pieces. Guess small is 1 piece. Wife had salad she was happy. Kinda hard to mess up lettuce. Service was ok. Never seen waitress after she took order. Had to ask for check. Drove an hour to get there would only return if in the area. But would drive on to Clear Springs next time
