“What can I say.. there are no words to describe how amazing the food is here. I personally love the Cep Jen but everything on the menu is so tasty and fresh. Everything is seasoned to perfection. The portion sizes are perfect. The service is exceptional. This is honestly the best African food in Houston to be honest. They’ve been consistent in service and food. Keep it up guys!!“
“Excellent beef suya sandwich and sweet potatoes fries, but pricy. Menu prices are not updated so look in the website for current prices. The difference is about $10. Gratuity of 20% is included even if you are only 1 person. I spent $39 for an excellent hamburger with sweet potatoes fries and 1 beer. ?, but only 1 person.“
“I've eaten here since I was little. The food at Cafe Piquet is some of the most authentic Cuban food here in Houston... it doesn't taste the same as it did 10 years ago but the yuca with mojo is still delicious. I prepare the congri better at home but the rest turns out great!!!“
“So good! A little dark inside for me cause I have bad eyesight in the dark, but the food is so good! Good size portion of oxtail for the price. Jerk chicken good. Rice good. Pasta and shrimp good. Very friendly staff. They treat everyone well there!“
“The parking was tight & limited but the food was good & piping hot & I love that for me. 5 stars for that. Everything was seasoned well. I ordered the 2 meat combo.. curry chicken & oxtails. My 3 sides were rice & beans, curry mash potatoes, & cabbage. But I ordered plantains & they gave me the cabbage instead. I dined-in so when I bought it to her attention, she said they ran out. I think that’s something I should’ve been informed of & I should’ve been the one deciding on what to substitute it with, not her. How do you know I even like cabbage?Thankfully I do so I didn’t make a big deal out of it but for future reference, if you’re out of a particular dish, let the customer know so they can substitute it for something THEY like. Don’t take it upon yourself to substitute for whatever YOU please.“
“What would Keith Lee say… “I don’t see why there isn’t a line out this door” everything from the service, food, and hospitality. My first time here was such a great experience and I know it won’t be my last. Gonna be my new go to spot for lunch when I stop in Houston. Shoutout to everyone for making my first experience such a great one!“
“Unpretentious hole in the wall with amazing Caribbean Creole cooking. Reasonable prices since it is not in a high rent area.We came here because we love the name. The restaurant is named after a popular song by that eternal icon of Cuban music, Celia Cruz. (Don’t tell the estate lawyers cause they’ll shut it down). When here in a Friday night 2 hours before they closed. The menu was limited because they were running out of items for the day. This is a great sign because everything had been made fresh that day.I had the grilled chicken breast with onions while my wife had the shrimp in red sauce. Both were really great. Plenty of fried ripe plantains.“
“The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We ordered the meal for 2 which included chicken soup, beans, rice, salad, shrimp, pork belly, bulgogi, chicken and brisket. We also ordered the tostones (fried plaintain chips) and takoyaki (fried octopus balls served on top of imitation crab mix). My favorites were the chicken and brisket. The server cooked the food for us, but you can do it yourself if you'd prefer. The interior was beautiful, especially the bar area and the fake cherry blossom tree.“
“This place is by far the best I’ve tasted in Houston Texas. Everyone was nice the place is very clean. My husband and I can’t stop hyping them up they are just that amazing. From the homemade sauce to the rice everything tastes like it was made with real love and that’s the type of food I want to be eating they can have my money any time.“

“It's been almost a couple of years since we been to Cool Runnings Jamaican Grill. I was ready for round 2.The service was a bit slow today, but I was patient enough to wait. The lady finally took my order, and not even 10 minutes later, the food was ready. I ended up getting 3 things. I got a large Curry Goat, a large Brown Stewed Chicken, and 4 Beef Patties. The Curry Goat was really good, not spicy, very mild in flavor, very tender like falling off the bone tender. It came with Rice and Peas and Cabbage. We wanted to try this last time we visited, but they were out. So I was relieved when the lady told me that they have it today. Worth it.The Brown Stewed Chicken was probably my favorite next to the Oxtails. The Chicken was flavorful and falling off the bone tender. The sauce that the chicken was in was so rich and full of flavor. The reason why I decided to try this is because Keith Lee rated this a 10/10... I have to agree with him there. The Beef Patties was still full of flavor on the inside but it was warm, like it's been sitting there for a bit. Despite that, I will return again soon.“
“Had this bought for me recently and the Jamaican jerk chicken is incredible. It's about a 3 or 4/10 spicy and the SPICE shines! The rice is delicious! Get the Ting grapefruit drink too. So good. Very delicious food. VERY great value. A LOT of food!“
“The food was authentic & real! Good food, had the oxtail, this how oxtail supposed to taste with sauce. Rice soft & flavorful, her cabbage best in Houston, 2nd to my girl only lol. But this place is golden for the ones who know. I'm Caribbean so i know & appreciate this place coming from miami“
