Nice and casual, good for enjoying the game or just to relax and conversate. Had the orange blossom cocktail and it was really good! The drinks are good I didn't try much food I just had seafood egg rolls and those were decent with the dipping sauce. “I ate here today with a couple of friends. The vibe was nice. Really good music especially for a Thursday. The food was actually better than expected. I got the 2 piece fried chicken and biscuit. Although, they were small, they were worth the price. My friends got the steak and my other friend got the crab cake and linguine and the only thing my friends said was that the baked potato on the side needed to have a little more flavor and the linguine needed a little bit of salt. Otherwise they enjoyed it as well !! The service was good as well, our server checked up on us often. Everyone was friendly.“

Had opened a tab with my cell phone and Apple Pay using my cash app card then another bartender came in and said they’re doing a shift change or something like that and asked to run my credit card again. I ended up tipping and closing out the tablet stormy I guess I think that was her name but y’all are running two tabs for the same night and I have been trying to ask y’all to fix that but your mailbox is full and I have not gotten any respond to my email that I sent y’all or something earlier this week as of now it’s still pending on my Cash App. Can y’all cancel that please . I only had one tab so it was two shots on special and a five dollar some type of Asian eggrolls so I tipped and it all came out to 26. I am not disputing that tab. I am disputing the other one from Friday that is pending. Other than that I had a great time Friday night I came back again Saturday night and spent money again and once again it was a different meal and different drink but I had a great time. The only issue I have is the fact that y’all accidentally opened up two tabs and didn’t close the other one as canceled it’s still pending for, nine dollars or $10 or something like. Thanks“
“This is a great hidden gem, the food is always amazing! Would recommend the salad with the green goddess dressing, it's huge! Also we love the make your own pizza, and the burgers are great as well. The prices are also pretty reasonable for the area that it's in.“

“Went there for BBQ night and have been there for steak night. BOTH were fabulous! Tons of food - plenty left over for a second or even third meal. Both were also very tasty! My only complaint would be that the bartenders aren't very friendly. They're not BAD; service is fine, but don't expect a big friendly "Hello!" when you go in.“
“Great sports bar to watch our teams play. Plenty of TV screens available inside and in the deck to watch our Astros! Sat at the bar on Tuesday steak night. The steaks were perfectly cooked as ordered with delicious side vegetables. The bartenders (both female) were very nice and attentive. This was our first time here. We will return often!!“

“60 yrs old...been in a few neighborhood bars over 39 yrs in Texas. John's has a great atmosphere as a sports bar w/jukebox music & live music. Been there 4 times in last 2 months on a weekend night each time. Only 1/4 times(not a good experience), male customer sitting at bar was very loud & obnoxious to his female companion. The staff & service everytime have been fantastic and customer friendly.Highly recommend this to anyone visiting "H" town & staying on Westside.“
“Before Sportsman's, it was the Kings Head. Before that, Tobin's Lounge. I went to the Kings Head for just about every Super Bowl the last 10 years. I wasn't going to end it. Instead, I'd give the Sportsman's a try. It reminds me a lot like Kings Head, but a lot more cleaner and lively. They did add a lot more TV's. The staff is also pretty friendly. They made sure my drinks were taken care of. From what I see, they got a DJ on the weekends. If anything, they're trying to give Energy Corridor folks a reason not to travel far for a cool hip place to have a few drinks and unwind without the "dive bar" atmosphere.“
